The problem isn't with the wire, it's how you're doing your build. I assume you're using a ss wick? If so then your hotspots are probably from your coil being too tight. What I do is roll the wick and keep testing to see if it slides in the coil. There'll be a point where you can twist it in. You want it a just a little looser than that. You don't want it loose enough to slide in and out easily but you don't want it so tight you have to twist it in.
the thing is, it works perfectly fine with my PV (thats how i set it up intially with hotspot fixing), no hotspots or anything at a max of 11 watts. but with my mechanical, once theres >15 watts going into the coil, it starts getting glowing red even when there is contact between the coil and the wick
what i really want to know is how do those guys achieve something vapable at wattages like that (25-30 watts) with such low ohms?
my guess is the coil is getting too hot even with juice surrounding it and no tight/loose spots.
