I have that calculator also and yes it does work very well. But it isn't any different than the one I linked to at the Steam page. So it is not the calculations that Mezrien is having a problem with. It is either the Kanthal he is using or the physical connections of the coil to his atomizer that is giving him the varying ohm readings.
Alright I just measured a piece and it's the right thickness. Came out at .321mm which converts to .0126377953 which according to the steam engine site it should be .01264 which would be the rounded up number. So my kanthal is right gotta be something else...

28g is .0126. So it looks like you have 28g.
But that doesn't mean the Kanthal is of great quality. I suspect it is more of a connection problem or some oil on the kanthal. Do you torch it prior to wrapping the coil?

Yup. Torch prior to wrap then torch after wrap for solid micro, the dry burn and squeeze after mounting. I check the ohms after every torch. I also test then via ohm meter and two different provaris. My ohm meter has a .1 difference than both my provaris which I take into account

And don't forget to take leads into account. Depending on how you place your coil (parallel, perpendicular, on an angle or even chimney) the amount of wire running from the coil to the screw will be different and influence your ultimate ohms. Not by a lot, mind you but enough to be measurable.
