36mg; How do you do it?

Let me preface by saying my plan is to hopefully scale down the amount of nicotine I'm using over time. Granted by the time I started e-puffing I was already down to ultra light smokes so I don't really need as much nicotine to start. I also understand not everyone is interested in lowering their nic intake, as I am.

So I was trying different strength liquids with this e-cig and I found that I can maintain my normal nic needs with the 11-14mg range. When I tried 18mg I got light headed and felt it was a bit strong for me.

So How do you guys that get the 36mg and e-puff all day handle that much nic. I'd be dizzy and falling over and probably end up with rug-burn on my forehead. Did you originally smoke 4 packs of reds per day and need that much nic or did you build it up over time with the e-cig? Does more nic carry more flavor with it?

I'm just curious as I've not yet tried anything over 18mg.

I managed about a half hour with 36mg juice and was getting palpitations and jitters. It's too potent for me to vape for long but I can see how people who just snatch a few minutes with their ecig every few hours might enjoy a fast, hard hit.

Personally I don't think more nic equals more flavour, I think they are two different things, it isn't the nic that carries flavour.

Kate's right about flavor. What you want to find is a nic level that mellows you out, not drops you to your knees in front of your toilet. Nicotine in and of itself has negative consequences (and, yes, some positive ones), but there's nothing to be gained by increasing your addiction and tolerance to the drug. As Kate wrote, you might experience rapid heart beat, sweating and dizziness if your nic intake is too high. And you will suffer that way for at least 30 minutes as your body tries to rid itself of the poison (and that's exactly what nicotine is).

Find a mid or low level that makes you happy. And keep cutting down that level, either by diluting a known mix with vegetable glycerine or purchasing even lower levels of nicotine in cartridges.

You could also build up a tolerance to the 36mg, and then you will have a very nice nicotine addiction indeed. lol personally I’ll just stick to the 18mg that’s spot on for me. A little word of warning though I started on the 11mg and that was good enough until I tried the 18mg, and now I wont go back down, so I’m going to give the 36mg a wide berth, lol Although it works for some.:thumb:

I was a pretty heavy smoker, about 30 / day so when I started on the 18mg carts, I alternated with real cigs. I stopped the real ones when I tried the 38mg stuff, at first I used it like the 18mg, continual vaping, and it almost floored me.
Now I use it more like a real cig, vape every 20mins or so. I still use the 18mg when playing around with funny flavours, Kate is right, nicotine does not equal flavour.

Having said that the last thing I want to do is go back to smoking so I'll say on the 36mg. If my need decreases, I can always dilute it with glycerol.

Oh I have no plan to actually build up my nicotine habit nor do I plan to try the 36mg anytime soon. I in fact mix a low/med and that seems about perfect for me. As I get used to the e-cig more and completely cut out analogue cigs I'll try to step down to low or a low/non mix. But I can defiantly understand the allure of a quick buzz from a few hits of a higher dose now and then.

I was a 30+ a day smoker until I started e-smoking two weeks ago. The first week I was using 18mg and still had to smoke real cigs in the morning and at night. I needed about 5-7 real cigs a day even though I was vaping constantly. The second week I started using 36mg and have not had a real cig since. My priority is to keep off the real cigs. Once I feel solid on that I can try lowering nic levels. Also, I don't vape as often or as much since I switched to 36mg.

Rochdale...sadly.
when i first hit 36mg i was overdosing every few hrs, now i reach for the 36 every time i need a hit.

i weren't too impressed with myself as my goal is to quit the addiction, however, my first goal is to quit the fags, ill worry about ditching the nicotine once ive conquered the cigs.

my last packet of baccy lasted me a whole week, usually it lasts for 3 days.

today was the first morning I woke up and i couldn't be bothered smoking either a real one or my ecig.

as most smokers know, the first thing you do when you wake up is reach for the fags
