You probably want the batteries to last all day, which means you want at least 1000mah. If you don't plan on vaping forever, definately get the 1300mah Spinner or Ego-C Twist (or something similar). They won't last forever and you can't replace the battery when it dies for good, but it won't matter if you quit completely before that happens.

If you want consistency and the same vapor production from fully charged until the battery dies, get one that's variable voltage like the ones I mentioned. You also want a spare battery just in case. You could get a 1000mah or 1300mah battery that's VV and a smaller 650mah as a backup. Then you have a small sized battery for when you're out in public or wherever. No matter what you choose, you're looking at less than $50 for two good batteries, and all the different juice devices are pretty cheap ($5-20). Unless you smoke a pack a week, you're immediately saving money by getting your e-cig gear!

Want to add to some of the opinions you've read with my experience. I too was looking for the cheapest way to stop and went with the a Ego starter kit (but purchased locally for $70). Then got some juice couple of more CE-4 (throw away clearomizers)....had spent over $100 at this point. I now am little educated thanks to ECF and have purchased a spinner and love the Kanger Evod or T3's. If your truly looking to quit the spinner or Ego-Twist (I have purchased both and like the spinner better)will help......along with a decent clearomizer (Kanger T3)until you decide to graduate to bigger and better! I actually started using cartotanks this last week and I am well on my way to purchasing a(or several) APV's (mods) very soon(Provari, VAMO,...Whatever)!! Enough rambling....buy a spinner or twist....Kanger tank and don't waste the $100 I wasted!!!

Well said. Couldn't agree more. Check out the vv gripper from madvapes. It's not a bad price for a cheap mod that works really good.

That sounds like a good plan :thumb:

Then all you'll need is some good e-juice. I'd recommend Mt Baker Vapor or Freedom Smoke USA. Get the right juice and it'll open a whole new world for you! :vapor:

So far i've had mountain dew and caramel from northwestvapors.com and I really like both of them. I'm gonna look into a marlboro flavor as well since i've smoked cigarettes for so long.

I second this option. Thumbs up. I see you have decided to quit Oct26, keep in mind that once you start vaping, and give up traditonal cigarettes you have stopped smoking. You may be getting nicotine, but the same is true when you stop smoking with the patch or any other Nicotine Replacement..... vaping just allows you the physical(and mental) indulgences associated with smoking....... And you can taper down to 0nic if you wish while in the process, or stay at whatever nic level you are comfortable.

Well the pact includes nicotine. So I will have to cut out the nicotine by then but at least I can still get the nicotine free liquid like you stated. :) The sad part is I am really not looking forward to giving up my cigarettes. lol

I believe there are different RY-4 juices, but the RY-4 I bought locally tasted EXACTLY like smoking a hookah (flavored tobacco taste). I'm assuming some of the other juices taste pretty close to tobacco since my RY-4 is identical to shisha, although I've read that many don't taste exactly like tobacco. I have no idea, just throwing that out there. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I wish you the best of success, once you have some reliable equipment and some enjoyable liquid you should not miss those cigarettes afterall. I can say I have not missed cigarettes in over 2 years. Heres to you. Enjoy.

Thanks guys!! I stopped smoking cold turkey twice for a year or more and started again our of anger cause my husband wouldn't even attempt to quit. This time it's for my sister. :) It'll stick this time.

what you should do is find times when your hubby cant smoke like in a restaurant or airport and make him take a puff or two off your ecig
so he can see it has its benefits, then eventually he might get himself one for when he cant smoke, then like most people he will eventually see that hes smoking less and less and one day stops all together.

Ha, this thread is such a relief! I've been reading for a few days (and thinking about this for a few months) and was feeling totally overwhelmed by the options. I placed an order a couple hours ago for the exact starter kit suggested by Oktyabr from myvaporstore.com.

Here's what I picked :
Spinner/Twist Ego VV Tank Combo
[Battery #1:Vision Spinner 1300mAh - Black]
[Battery #2:Joye Ego-C Twist 650mAh - Green]
[Cartomizer #1:Vision Ego Clearomizer 2.0 - Clear]
[Cartomizer #2:Kanger T3 eGo Bottom Coil Clearomizer - Clear]

I had read enough to decide it was worth it to spend a little more upfront because I really want this to work. In addition to the kit I got a few 10ml bottles of different juice flavors/strengths and an extra atomizer head for each of the clearomizers.

I figure once I get my stuff I can worry about ordering a variety pack of juices. I want to get a sense of what mg nicotine I like at the moment.

I'm a roll-your-own smoker for almost 20 yrs so I think I need to start off with a lot of vapor, control, and a strong TH. I'm hoping I am on the right track.

Anyway, I was worried maybe I picked a bad deal but it is recommended on this thread so I feel better now.

:)

I can only hope. :) He is quite stubborn. lol He wouldn't even try the one I tried cause he tried one that looked like a fake cigarette and didn't like it. Maybe one day he'll kick the cigarettes or monster habit. I'm not gonna push the issue while I am in school and even after he has to want it for it to stick. I have enough to deal with: school, house, three kids. I think he will get tempted when i'm smoking while we are watching TV and it's raining though. lol

I'm glad this thread reassured you! Let me know how you like the vision ego and kanger t3. I can't decide if i should get both or two of one, or even the EVOD or MT3 (they had great reviews). I'm gonna keep researching this month and decide by the 19th on what I want to get. I know i'm gonna get two Vision Spinner 1300mAH batteries. I have been chain smoking lately due to meds and stress from college so i'll need a big battery. I'm just stuck on what tips to get. I usually take deep drags on cigarettes till I feel the burn in my throat so I know these batteries are my best bet but i'm not sure if the tips will have anything to do with flow as well or if the tip specifically deals with flavor potency.

So I got some birthday money and I have enough to get my starter kit! I wasn't sure on the tips so I am getting 4 different ones to see what I like best. Here is what I am getting, do I need anything else besides liquid?

Spinner/Twist Ego VV Tank Combo:
Wall to USB Converter
Joye eGo Rapid USB Charger
Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh - Black
Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh - Blue
Kanger EVOD eGo Clearomizer - Blue
Vision Ego Clearomizer 2.0 - Green

Also, how do I know what PV/VG ratio to get?

EGO *CEFour + V2 - 2.4Ω/ohm - Blue
Kanger T3 eGo Bottom Coil Clearomizer - Blue
Empty Plastic Bottle with Needle Top - 30ml

Hi again Lilsweety. All the equipment looks like a winning combination. As far as liquid pg/vg ratio goes, heres my opinion..... These are all wick feed systems(ce type) I would advise a 70pg/30vg ratio to start, Get this ratio in a few different flavors and strengths. None of the clearos you have listed are known for leaking, and the addition of vg to the mix will add a bit of smoothness as well as visible vapor. I believe this ratio will be the most frendly to both the bottom coil and the top coil types. High amounts of vg typically allows gunk to build up faster than high amounts of pg. Pure pg mixes dont have enough vaopr output(for me) and are typically too harsh(for me), so adding a little vg should help solve both issues.

The only thing that i see you have on there that you don't really need is the needle top bottle. All those clearomizers have easier fill openings so the needle top probably won't help much(if at all) for filling the clearomizers on this list.... You are missing standard cartomizers, which I personally advise every vaper to have on hand. Once you get used to filling and using a carto correctly you may find that they suit you just perfectly(my wife will only use a carto still to this day), and at ~$6 for a box of 5 they are handy to have on hand for backups as well. I would add a package of Boge or Smoktech cartomizers(2ohm) and keep the needle tip for filling those.Just my two pennies.......... Happy Vaping.

Looks like a great starting setup and should last you a long time. Many people never upgrade from what you listed right here. Congrats. Plus it looks like the thread helped others as well. My only question is how did you scam some Birthday money???? I don't think I've gotten that since I was about 8 years old. lol.

I would also get one 510 atomizer to test juices- if the juice is yucky much easier to clean than a tank.
As far as PG/ VG of juice:
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like- many of us believe it to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG
Don't forget about the nicotine/ mg level of the juice.

Best of Luck.

Very nice selection and a great kit! I would add a couple of extra coils for your clearomizers (2 for T3 and 2 for eGo)--I like 2.2Ω coils the best; they are the most versatile.
