Hi all;

I am in the evangelistic stage of my vaping experience so for Christmas I bought starter kits for all the smoking friends who are willing to seriously try vaping. One of my friends is suffering from late stage Parkinsons disease so she is unable to operate the button on the manual Ego 510 battery. Her hands shake too badly to keep the button depressed. My experience with autos has been limited and pretty negative. Are there any auto batteries that perform close to on the same par with the 510 Egos? I would like 510 threading because I already purchased the cartomizers for her kit.

Thanks!

You shouldn't be using resurrectors on small 510 batteries. It's discharging them at a rate they weren't designed for.

It's not 510 I don't think? But check out the echo http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-vapes-beautiful-automatic-mega-fat-batt.html

I'm honestly not sure if there is another fat batt automatic on the market just now. You may be able to use a 801/901 - 510 adapter to use resurrector cartomisers on the echo. I'm not sure if you can though, autos can be a bit funny with vent holes and stuff like that if you want to use an adapter.

The main plus for the echo, automatic and a 1300mah battery (about 100mah gets used per hour of vaping). If you downsize to 510s it's about 120mah which is like, an hour. You'd want more time between charges I assume.

Just a suggestion though, if you want to use rezzies on an auto. Usually autos are too small to handle 1.7ohms.

That is kind of what I was afraid of.... Perhaps the stiff button of the manual is worth the duration of the Ego batts and less hassle of being able to use a reso cart. Im just afraid she will get frustrated with the button push, when she tried mine I had to hold the button for her.....

You could use a 2.0ohm 808 carto with the echo. The ego is 3.2v which is why you need lower ohms, 1.7ohm cartos for it to really deliver some heat. The echo is 3.7v so you could get away with a 2.0ohm carto to get the same sort of heat out of it.

The echo is the only big automatic I know of, it's just kr808d-1 threaded instead of 510. Maybe there are others now, I can't be sure.

I am new in all this, can some one tell me what is difference between auto and manual

An automatic is similar to an analog (real cigarette), where you just take a drag from it and get vapor. A manual requires you to push a button and hold it down to activate the battery before you can take a hit. You hold the button down as long as you want your drag to be.

I prefer manuals, but I wouldn't mind a small automatic to take around town with me.

Thanks for clarification, I think manual battery last longer?

Use their Contact form, or try a PM in the TW area on this forum (Miss Wicked), to get confirmation.

I'm not sure if/how resurrectors work with autos. Boge cartos would likely do well, XL if they have them in 2 ohm (to minimize refilling).

For a small around-town 510 auto, check out electronicstix' SD Key Ring by Trog. They're out of stock right now, but look like a sweet, tiny, unit. I shoul dbe getting one in tomorrow to try. (I usually use large VV mods, but sometimes a tiny auto is good)

token - the charge of manuals does not last longer but the batteries themselves often survive longer because many manuals have a totally sealed threaded end so there is no way for juice leaks to get inside the battery and short it or ruin the drag switch (since there is no drag switch). There is no such thing as "sealed" autos - the ones that claim to be sealed are safer but they just move the hole to the side of the center post of the battery instead of the middle. Most people here use and recommend manuals because most manuals are harder to damage or kill and manuals make it easier to get a good hit.

Of course it may make it harder for someone with parkinsons tremors to get a good hit which is what is being discussed here.
