I'm a 510 neophyte, just stated with it this morning after the 8-hour initial charging recommended in the instructions. I started vaping at 6:00 am or so; by 9:00 it died. Is three hours per charge what I can expect?

Also, after the initial 8 hours, how long does it take to recharge the standard battery? And does the charger or the battery indicate in some way when it's fully charged?

Im also a neophyte, got my 510 a month ago. Its the best PV to start with, but damn having to change batts every 3 hours or stay plugged into a USB port with a PT.

Thats why i just got a EM Riva Kit (2 batts, 2 attys, USB/Wall charger) for $40 from Eastmall. Eastmall is in China, but there are US vendors who sell this product also. 8-12 hour (or MORE) battery life. Since the Riva is essentially just a 510 battery, all your attys, cartos, PTs, etc will work with the Riva as they did with your standard 510. Its a great upgrade path.

I got only 2 hours from a std. 510 battery. I was using 3 in rotation, so I didn't pay any attention to how long it takes to charge them. Less than 4 hours though, that much I know. FWIW, for std. 510 batteries, I think 3 is the minimum number to have on hand. The 510 kit is a nice easy way to get started, but it can get frustrating having to screw/unscrew attys and battys all day.

Gotta agree with Broseybrose on getting a bigger battery. Vaping is so much more enjoyable. I use the eGoXL -- the Riva is a copy of the eGo. Lots of places carry eGo and eGoXL, but I like Wordup e-cig.

Nice thing about the 510 is you have lots of options, as many many different battery devices use that thread.

The light on the charger will turn steady green when the charge is finished.

the Riva is a copy of the eGo.

The Riva is not a copy or knockoff of the eGo.

Although the Riva certainly took some design ideas from the eGo, the Riva is entirely its own beast manufactured by Eastmall in China. In fact, it has a 750mah batt compared to the eGo's 650mah. And a better button, most would agree.

In my eyes, the Riva is an innovation of the eGo, not a knock-off of it.

Youre saying that the Riva is a knock-off because it took ideas from the eGo. According to your logic, everything in the world is a knock-off, because everything takes ideas from something.

Not trying to argue per say, but i dont see how you can call the Riva a knock-off when its actually a branded innovation.

Boys, boys, let's not fight over semantics.

Merriam Webster's online defines Knock Off as a verb, to copy, or to imitate.

If the Riva isn't a reverse-engineered counterfeit of the eGo, then it isn't a copy. Or so the argument could be made.

However, if the Riva "...took some design ideas from the eGo," then it is, to one extent or another, an imitation. Or so the argument could be made.
