Since the atty's link up, will the charger also work? And does anyone know will a 103 charger work with a 510? I'm making an order tomorrow and weighing a few options.

Are the plastic drip tips worth getting, or should I go ahead and get the chrome? been just direct dripping "normally" on my 103 but it's a bit of a pain sometimes. And gets me funny looks when I'm driving ;)

I'm pretty much decided on getting 1 or 2 510 batteries and 1 eGo for "long life" - will I notice much difference in the regular LR atty's for either of these, or will they burn out quicker with one or the other battery? How much life can I expect out of one? (With proper draining I tend ot get about 10 days out of a 103 atty).

Lightgeoduck tells me that the eGO can be charged in the 510 charger ... slowly (and the mains would need the extended adapter for the ego to fit). However the 510 battery cannot be charged in the eGO fast charger since the output current is too much for the standard battery to handle. I don't know whether the 103 charger will work with the 510 or eGO batteries. Proceed at your own risk.

Drip tips can make dripping more convenient. Plastic (by which I mean the sturdy Delrin ones) or metal is a matter of personal preference. [I don't like the feel of metal between my lips.]

You will notice a big difference between the 510 and eGO batteries with LR attys ... because LR attys should not be used with a 180 mAh battery like the 510. Minimum 450 mAh (e.g., the 650 mAh eGO). If you constantly keep your LR attys very moist (i.e., drip frequently) – and only vape them on an eGO-type battery or mod – they should last you quite some time: more than 10 days.

I urge you to give serious consideration to forgetting the 510 batteries and order a full eGO* kit (you're going to need the charger and cone from the kit anyway). The only way to cope with the 510 battery's low mAh is with a PCC, incurring another expense and a greater hassle than simply using two eGO batteries. The 510 battery was great for its day (2009), but since the introduction of the eGO, that day has passed.

* The eGO (i.e., a true Joye eGO or Tornado) was the first fat batt and remains an outstanding one. It is not, however, the only good one nor are you likely to get the best bang for the buck. There are also the Riva, Hello 016, Inferno, T-Rex, KGO, two different models called "VGO", and "eGo" knock-offs. [I describe some of them, including the eGO, in this article.]

I have continued to be very impressed by the Riva: similar quality to the eGO, fully compatible with it (e.g., the mega attys/carts/cartos), higher mAh, and it has stood the test of time (almost as long as the eGO). The kicker for me is that the Riva typically is less expensive than the eGO. For example, you can get a full 750 mAh Riva kit for $30 (after 20% discount code: ecf) from Liberty-Flights ... and an 1100 mAh Riva 1100 for $48 from BreezEsmokes. Each of these is less expensive than what the 650 mAh eGO (or Tornado) typically sells for.
