I have had my 510 foe about 9 months. I have had a total of 3 atty's 2 manual batteries and 1 auto. Lost 1 atty and auto battery. I had 1 atty go bad. I am left with 2 manual batteries and 1 atty. I am looking for a ecig that's like the 510 that holds up. Not sure where to go or what to try. Also looking to stay in the same price range as the 510. Any help?:?:

So you are looking for an e-cig that's LIKE the 510, but not a 510? Why?

Is it because some of the parts failed within 9 months? Did you know that the lifespan of an atomizer is meant to be about 3 months? Or do you have other reasons to find a different model?

It's not bad just short battery life but thats why I carry 2 batteries. Other problem is that it seem to stop working on me. I may stay with it but I am not sure.

Also Liberty Flights have Rivas and Egos for really good prices (using the discount coupon). If you want longer battery life, then you might want to check them out. I have both and the battery life is really good. The Riva is quite a bit cheaper than the Ego but in my experience works just as well as the Ego.

Why would you get a 510? Battery life 1-3 hours, ego 8-10 hours. Unless you have a thing for batteries.

I agree... for high 510 performance with long battery life: Riva lite bundle at Liberty Flights for $30 after the 20% discount (or eGo for $40). Time for an upgrade....plus with the bigger batts you can try the LR atomizers too.

Standard 510 batteries are 180mah charge life. You could try the 510 mega xl batteries (and I recommend manual ones). They last 60% longer than the standard 510 batteries. With mega xl batteries, the overall length is increased. With atty+cart it would be about 138mm, with standard cartomizer (the way I use them) total length is about 128mm. The Mega xl's are 280mah charge life.

That's the longest charge you can get with slim 510 batteries. Then there are Riva 510 and Ego which are fatter than the slim 510's and you can get them with 650mah and higher charge life. There are also a whole variety of box mods etc that use the 510 threading.

I always meant to ask this- how is the mega xl battery different than the ego battery? Is it just the shape that's different?

The reg 510 is a 180 mah battery and the 510 mega is a 280 mah battery. The mega is a bit longer in length and last abt three quarters to twice as long as a reg 510. Comparing the 280 mah 510 to an Ego the Reg Ego is a 650 mah batt lasting twice as long and often even longer and much fatter in comparison to the mega. The length of the 510 mega is longer than the Ego.

The mega is longer but still thin like the 510 -- it's 280 mah so lasts about 3 hours.

The eGo is the same length as the 510 but is fatter like a sharpie pen -- it's 650 mah so lasts about 7 hours.

To the OP, you've gone 9 months and are in the position of replacing $15 worth of parts. I'd say tons of people are reading that thinking how incredibly lucky you've been with the longevity of your original kit.

As for what to do next, I'd agree with everyone else. Get a Riva or Ego. Theoretically, the batteries should last much longer because they're going through 1/2 to 1/3 the number of charge cycles as standard batteries. There's no such thing as an everlasting atty. Most people I know feel like if they can get an average of a month-and-a-half out of each, they're doing fine.

I got lucky in my first purchase when I settled on the VIP from vaporizela.com. It was 50 bucks, but only came with one battery and a 5 pack of cartos. I say lucky, because it seems to be exactly like an Ego. So I just ordered an atomizer, some blank cartos, a slim battery (for going out) and a USB passthrough battery for when I'm sitting outside all day. So far, I've been vaping for 3 days and spent 50 bucks on my original kit, 10 bucks on some Kretek juice from TastyVapor and I just laid down 52 last night at Vapor4Life for all of the above parts.

That should last me quite awhile and basically just over 100 bucks. That is NOTHING compared to blowing around 7 bucks a pack for Djarum Black clove "cigars" and only getting 12 in a pack :) I was probably averaging 120 to 140 a month in smokes. Not only will this be much cheaper, but it's healthier, cleaner and more pleasurable for me thus far. Winning!

I'll probably get 15 or 20 more cartos and load them up with a good variety of samples or mini juices to see what else is out there, but this s by far one of my cheapest "hobbies" :)

ego batteries have a 6 month warranty at liberty flights. I believe it's a two month warranty on attys. 45 days on starter kits.
