the situation: I bought a 510 PT from cignot and used it heavily for about a month. It is the kind with the battery inline. It was hooked up through the usb port of my laptop. then one day I actually turned off the computer and read a book, and still used the PT, thinking it was still getting power. Then, POOF! it's dead. I searched and searched through the forum, couldn't find an answer that worked, bought a new pt without the inline battery. Last night found a thread that suggests I only need to replace the inline battery and the old pt should come back to life. Hooray!

The Question: Can I just replace the inline battery with a regualr Li rechargeable battery from walmart, or do I really need to spend $5 + shipping for a special one?
thanks!

More likely than 'dead' is that you ran the charge out of the battery. You could plug it back in with the computer powered up and let it recharge or better, get a wall plug with a usb port to run and charge it from.
