510 Riva atty no good or what?

Used one atty with my Riva for a week or so. Blow it out every night and dry burn every couple days. I decided to open the spare atty and let the first one soak over night.

It doesn't work at all. And I just noticed that when the center make contact with the battery, instead of constant led I get flashing. Remove the atty or use the other one and everything is fine.

Is my atty no good? I tried cleaning it and got same results. If it is dead, how do I take it apart to check? I'm pretty handy with electrical repairs and figured I can't break it anymore than it already is right? I've already tried adjusting the seat out and such.

So, put a meter on it. From what little I can tell, it sounds like a shorted atomizer to me.

It could be the insulator sleeve has a hole in it, or a blob of solder? Hard to say, but either way a meter should tell you if it is shorted.
