510 thread size

Happy new year Reoville!

Anybody know the thread size and pitch of the 510s currently in use? I bought a Grand a few months ago and now I'm finding out many of my new bottom fed attys don't screw on to it. They work fine on my other, older Grands though, mostly. So I was thinking of running a tap through this new Grand and opening up the threads.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

510 thread is 7mm x 0.5mm

Yes, M7x0.5 is correct for 510 - but I would not buy a tap just for that one use - I'd rather use a magnifying glass and find the burr in the threads - and remove it with a dremel or small file.

You may want to PM Rob about it. This seems to come up randomly and I don't think we know yet if it's an occasional problem with a "less than great" mill on the 510's he's getting or a problem specific to the threads on certain attys. Even if you decide to tap it yourself let him know what order it was from and what attys are having the problem. If you can live without both the Reo and the attys send them both to Rob and he will do it for you and make sure it's all good.
