510 USB Passthrough

Mine Sucks. Sometimes I get a little vapor, sometimes I get none. I was thinking I might want to try to remove that battery and just solder the line back together. Is this a good idea or a bad one ?

could just be the connection. plus how long is you usb cable and how thin is the wire.

the atty works on normal batts. Its about 3 feet long and the wire is very thin.

Contact who you bought it from some are faulty,they should ship you anouther one, I have one on my pc and one in car and both work great.

I cut mine and now I am vaping at 5v from my Kesington or directly from the current with an adaptor. The result is just "great", good flavor and vapor.

Unfortunately, Its been a while since I ordered it. I dont think I would feel right trying to return it now. I will try cutting the battery out, and see what happens. Dont think it could be worse then not using it.

I made a conjecture for the best USB cable to use.
Get on that has a USB-A to USB-B the kind you connect to hubs.
THe wires' allot thicker and works great on the one i made today.

Have you meter-checked the battery? Three of my 510 PTs work as PVs just fine with fresh batts, but they will not charge in the PT batt box. I use an external charger and have a bunch of 10440's charged to swap out when needed. It took actually getting new batts and a charger, and using my volt-meter to finally figure out what was up. The 510 PT is not a high-end device, and the cheap wiring is prone to disconnections. At least the problem with mine is in-current issues (charging) and not out-current issues (vaping).

That said, I do have another 2 PTs that have given up the ghost with vaping, even with fresh batts. They cost cost about the same as a batt, so one cannot expect immortality from them.
