I was a bad boy and havent read ALL the ECF rules so I thought I would as this question first.

It it unethical or against the forums rules to out right ask if someone has a close "knock-off" recipe for a particular 555 juice made by a very well know supplier?

I've been going through the normal $6,723.42 start up cost to try and figure out all this vape stuff (should break even in 2016) and haven't found "The One" all day flavor yet but have found a pretty good 555 that I would like to try making myself with a little help. Ok.... a .... load of help. lol

Is it wrong to ask something like this? Will there be consequences?

Indeed the forums are full of requests like this, and occaisionally there are direct answers. Some (like mine) are guesswork by amateur tinkers, others are exacting recipies and analyses of existing liquids.

Here's how I would start, not having had a 555.
Here is discussed a bit about the flavor, attempting to nail it down. Result is it varies by maker. One thing remains standard. Tobaccoey. That sends me to a shop like perfumers apprentice to pick up one of their tobacco absolutes (very thick ichorous substance) and some ethyl maltol (for smoothing... cotton candy flavor iirc). That site has some recommendations on how to dilute your absolute into something usable. those recommendations if you check them come from here, so you are definately starting in the right forum.

Next in the description is nutty, with an exception that the specific nut may vary. Decide which one you want, and grab it. Here is the world famous ejuice calculator which includes a large list of flavorings. Plenty to pick from. Perhaps... too many to pick from. :D

Now its play time! Starting by making your tobacco flavor into PG down to a vapable level. This may be 30ml depending on how you prepare the tobacco absolute. (strong tasting stuff).
Next, take a small amount of that into a small bottle, perhaps 3ml or so, and play with the nut flavoring and any other flavors you want to mix in. If its crap.. toss it down the drain, try again and you are out only pennies, unless your nut flavoring was costly. Keep track of what amounts you are trying so you can easily recreate it later.

Its a lot of experimentation, ton of error, and a great way to stay in shape!

Ok... Thanks for the help Foebea. It looks like it's time for me to buck up and waste a little money. lol Oh... and I gotta stop posting after a few cold ones cause I had a hard time reading my own original post. lol
And yep, I've been playing around with Dan's calculator trying to figure it all out. Was just hoping someone had a close recipe of a 555 I could start with.

Thanks!

I just posted my DIY recipe on another thread.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ews/132760-where-do-you-order-your-555-a.html

DIY- 30ml VG/PG 90/10 mix, about 10% Health Cabin 555 flavoring (adjust it to my taste), and about 3% Loranns Peanut Butter, 2% Loranns Chocolate, and 2% HC Milk Chocolate because I like the chocolate in addition to the 555 taste. oops, I forgot, I also add TPA toasted marshmallow to add some sweetness.

one more question - do all the 555 formulas taste like a sort of cigar?

Who's 555 have you tried so far?
I've only tried one source and it was a VERY smooth tobacco with a mild TH. And it got MUCH better over a weeks time. I want to order more as we are completely out of all tobacco flavors but their site is down. :?:
