I just bought a MadVapes 5V USB Passthrough so I could save batteries for travel and I'm having a little trouble...

I have a few litecigusa Single Coil Carts (@ 2.2Ω) and they work very well.
I regularly use DCT @ 2.0Ω and I'm barely burning the juice.

Plugged into my Laptop

I would think that @ 5V the DC 2.0Ω and the SC 2.2Ω would burn the same....but they don't.

I even experimented with a 1.5Ω DCT and got small pops instead of a steady hiss.....y'know?

Please Help.

While it may not seem like much of a difference, the actual difference in wattage is 12.5 Watts using the 2.0Ω carto and 11.36 Watts using the 2.2Ω carto. IOW, over a full Watt.

You're vaping above the recommended 'high end' but many do :) And much depends on the flavors and type of ejuice your using. I'm assuming you're using the same ejuice here and that the 2.0 is getting some burn and the 2.2 is fine. I've ran into the same situation between the exact same ohms but at 3.7v instead of 5v. So it's isn't abnormal for you to experience it. I, too, was at first surprised at the difference that .2Ω made but when put into the formula for wattage, it's definitely different.

Also you might look at using a wall plug or car lighter plug vs. using your laptop. The plug should be rated at least 1 amp. They're cheaper than replacing your laptop... there have not been a lot of reports of damage to computers but there has been some, so it is possible.

Just to add to Kent's good advice, unless you actually check the resistance with a meter, your 2.2 ohm carto may be closer to 2.4 ohms. I have found this to be relatively common for Boge LR cartos. PLus each coil in a 2.0 ohm DC is actually 4 ohms, so each coil has less heat than the 2.2 ohm SC. You are just vaporizing twice as much liquid as a 4 ohm SC would vaporize. So the two different cartos are pretty different, besides the differences in watts.
