So, I didn't bother to read all the news articles posted above. Any conclusions as to what he had? Lipoid pneumonia, or are they just blaming "vaping"?

I believe all but maybe one of the other six deaths were traced to black market T.H.C. vials with vitamin E acetate. I don't mean to be insensitive to anyone's death, but these folks were experimenting with illegal black market drugs, nothing associated with nicotine vaping.

Now if its found that a nicotine e-liquid is found to be contaminated that makes someone sick, then we have a real story on our hands. Then we have the makings for a real conspiracy.

unfortunately it's more "vaping" and "e-cigarettes" that are being blamed. THC gets a brief mention in a couple but the CDC is still urging people to "stop vaping"

One of the articles above mentioned a couple of older individuals. I think one was 58, the other was over 65. It said they both had previous serious health problems. Lung problems in one case, not defined in the other case. I believe some of the others were older too.

Most of the illnesses were in young males, teens or early twenties. Guess the older sicker people are more likely to not make it.

Seventh person dies from vaping-associated lung disease

The latest victim brings the death toll from the mysterious illness to seven. Doctors say it resembles lipoid pneumonia, a specific type of pneumonia that occurs when oil enters the lungs. ​

Tulare County Resident Dies From Vaping-Related Illness

There have been three reports of vaping-related pulmonary illnesses in the county. ​

It is now the second vaping related death in California and the first in the Central Valley.

Don't think it mentioned whether they smoked or how long they vaped. In one of the cases it said they used THC.

The 40-year-old man from California died over the weekend after battling a "severe" lung disease for several weeks.

Regarding the spate of deaths in America, Martin Dockrell, Head of Tobacco Control at PHE, said: “A full investigation is not yet available but we’ve heard reports that most of these cases were linked to people using illicit vaping fluid bought on the streets or homemade, some containing cannabis products, like THC, or synthetic cannabinoids, like Spice.​

Interestingly, Diacetyl is banned in UK.

The same day the Minnesota of Department of Health said a patient who was over 65 years old died in August after a long and complicated hospitalization. The patient had a history of underlying lung disease and suffered a sever lung injury associated with vaping THC products, Minnesota State Epidemiologist Dr. Ruth Lynfield said in the press release.

Within a week, two more deaths were announced in Los Angeles County and Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said the patient was over 50 years old and had a history of underlying health issues with symptoms that quickly progressed. It was unknown what type of products the patient used, the release said.

In August, health officials reported a spike of people in Kings, Fresno, and Tulare counties being admitted to hospitals with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) or wet lung.

I think it's banned for e-cig use in the whole of Europe under the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD)

Well there you go, we the sane vapers are going to get hit on whatever happens and media is taking its toll, just today while out and about enjoying the sunshine I went for a beer, sat in the beer garden drinking and having a vape when a woman came over and said "you are not allowed to smoke drugs here "I tried explaining to no avail and walked away.
I don't think we in the UK will have an happy ending, I can see the lobbyists going for a flavour ban eventually, I've said before that vaping gets picked on ,the powers that be allow stinkies that cause untold deaths, it's all about money

I am SO not looking forward to the blow back. I have social anxiety as it is, last thing I need is random strangers accosting me in public about my vaping.

I'm with you there, it's happened to me a few times now and it is not a good feeling, you can try to explain that vape juice is not oil and it's oil based contaminated thc that's causing the deaths, I mean, why would anyone want to vape oil for gods sake
