I live in Minneapolis also. I just got off work when that happened and made my way down there. I remember being at the bar after work when some one on there phone said "turn on the news a bridge clapsed" I did not expect it to be one of those bridges that cross the river. After that everyone was on there phone calling there loved ones and friends to make sure they were ok. Myself included. Everyone gasped when the live helicopter shot came to the disaster.
I cant belive you were so close!

I saw/heard the thick gauge wire snapping and whipping all over the place, it was the metal rebar that almost decapitated me. I am now deadly afraid of bridges and going over them cause huge amounts of stress/anxiety, I also try not to stand under them for whatever reason.

I was under the bridge with numerous skaters/bicyclists and we all just froze and didn't know what to do since we all were almost killed/seriously injured. We still dwell on knowing we could've help those in need but what almost happened to us put us in a sense of shock that we didn't know what to do...run or stay and help.

We will have to live with our choices on that horrible day for the rest of our lives.
