Ban bleach, gasoline, ammonia, matches, oxygen(flammable), all metal objects(sharp and pointy), bees(lots of allergic reactions), sharks and cars while their at it. I know for a fact these all kill more children than e-juice.

Exactly ^ you got it.

I am in favour of putting appropriate warnings AND let the community be aware e-juice is poison if kids or pets (or adults) drink it.
Having said that, there is easily over 100 over-the-counter freely available products in your average Australian supermarket just as deadly IF a kid drank or ate them. Nobody is banning those or fining people for it.

I would suspect this has something to do with it! Any time I hear politicians fervently bleating about "Saving The Children by banning this or that product", it frequently means that someone's profits are being threatened. I always ask myself "who stands to gain financially by any particular piece of legislation" Follow the money and its easy to find out.

I must add that I'm all for keeping kids away from clear and present dangers such as pedophiles, hard drugs etc. But E-juice? C'mon, there is something that smells very much like lobbyists here! Parents do have to accept SOME responsibility fer cryin' out loud!

No that was in the 20th century (well most of it). Ths is the new millennia we're no longer responsble for our actions we just blame someone else. I wouldn't be surprisedif the day comes when somehow a car manufacturer gets blamed for a kid dying after being left too long in a car with the windows up.

Don't touch that, it's HOT! I said DON'T TOUCH THAT IT'S HOT!!!!.... and then the kid touched the oven door any-damn-way, and screaming and blisters and minor burn treatment ensued.

How many of you with kids went thru this?

Afterwards... DON'T TOUCH THAT BOTTLE!( or gun, or anything dangerous) should be the very next thing said. After the oven experience, they won't go near it.

Also my $.02

Amen to that, Brother!

Part of having kids is teaching them what they can and should not touch - sometimes this might involve them getting hurt just a tad. My daughter, when she was about 2, wouldn't stop touching the coffee I was drinking one morning - it was hot but not dangerously so. Fine, I said, put your hand in it. She did, screamed in pain, and never did it again. Since then, I have also had to teach her about "daddy's shaving knives" (my straight razors) being sharper than the one's in the kitchen.

But I still don't understand what the offense is here under Queensland law - 'possession'? How can you be said to have posessed something that was seized before it reached you?

My dad hunted and when I was older mom and dad joined the ATA. We had guns around the house always. I used to help dad reload shells. That was kind of cool. My sister and I had a healthy respect for guns from a very young age. We didn't touch them without permission and we were heavily drilled in gun safety.

That's all it really takes teaching your kids and taking some precautions (lock it away when you can't supervise)...raise your kids don't let them raise themselves.

My youngest had to spend six hours in the ER because she ate wild mushrooms from the yard. Guess they should ban those too.
:p
Seriously tho... This is EXACTLY the reason I am stocking up on nic, atties and other DIY supplies.

(if I remember correctly: wasn't it RJ Reynolds that tested their own PV in NZ?)

That brings up a question. I've been reading about steeping your juice. Once it's steeped, how long is it going to last??? I read that it starts going down hill after a couple weeks.
Does anybody know for sure???

Thanks,

I am 53. No child proof caps were invented. Seat belts were not required. Guns were in the house. Some how my friends and I all grew up fine with no runs to the emergency room. How is that? If the kid is so stupid to chug e-juice so be it. Survival of the fittest and another ..... eliminated. I love kids but some how or another entire generations survived without these regulations.

I really think kids that once they can move around on their own should be sent to a government run holding compound and not released until they are 20. They would then have all the protection that we can afford and if they turn out stupid, clumsy, or any other way than perfect, well we know who to blame then.

I'm not so sure that the government officials weren't raised that way...
