801 PT shuts down AC 5V 1000 ma adaptor

I have a brand new DSE 801 passthrough that will not work with my new AC adapter which is 5V, 1000 mA. The adaptor itself will actually shut itself off (I assume so because the red power light clicks off) and the 801 PT starts flickering its orange light. Why is this happening? I really wanted to use the AC adaptor instead of the USB port on my PC.

The passthru is drawing more current than the adapter can supply. Many adapters are very optimistic with their output capabilities. This one WILL work:

Thanks, Flipn, I ordered one--sure hope that works. It worked fine with my 510 passthrough but those have the inline battery too.
