Beware ... I am about to speak of merchandise sold by our friends at DealExtreme (Google it if your are not familiar). I want to say up front that DealExtreme carries a lot of rather weird ecig stuff, and I WOULD NOT recommend EVER buying 99.99% of it ... that said if you are prepared to look through pages and pages of utter crap and have a discerning eye there may be the odd gem buried there. The pages of crap are good for a laugh as well :)
Almost on a whim, I bought a couple ecigs (slim bat/usbcharger/cartomizer) from the site because one of the commenters had confirmed they were actually 808d compatible ecigs. They were only $4.60USD each and free shipping. Available in black or white, I will post the sku # at the bottom. I bought them more for the usb chargers than anything else, since I only had the one that came with my kit, and I wanted to be able to charge more than one slim batt at a time ... and also because with ecigs you need to have at least 2 of everything in case something breaks down. I wasn't expecting much, if anything from the batteries ... worst came to worst I could pull the connectors off and use them for a mod or something (If I ever get around to trying to make one). They are autobatts by the way.
I have now used these for a few weeks and feel I can intelligently comment on my experience with them. My curiosity got the better of me and I actually tried one of the included cartos ... gross. The chargers work just fine, both on the batts they came with and on my stock of regular slim batts. The batteries were put into the rotation with the rest ... surprisingly they are pretty decent. They are 68mm batts, 10mm shorter than a standard 808d, and the site rates them at 220mah. Probably more like 180mah, but who knows. They seem to have all the bells and whistles of a normal 808d auto batt as far as protection circuitry goes ... 5 second cutoff, undercharge and overcharge protection, etc. I've used and recharged them pretty steady over the past couple weeks and they seem to be performing well for their size.
There was a downside however. The picture on the DealExtreme site shows the 808d connector on the batt to be slotted and it looks like there are the 4 holes around the threaded barrel. The ones I got had neither ... the draw was incredibly tight ... solved that issue by drilling the 4 holes myself using a 1/16 bit ...soft metal so not that hard. If you have a 3/64 bit even better. This happens on DealExtreme all the time, based on comments from customers ... what you get may not be EXACTLY the same as what is pictured. Also, the battery is not sealed, but I've got the refill technique on my Kanger cartos down pat so I never have a leakage problem.
So there you have it. Your mileage may vary ... it is DealExtreme after all :).
