I have not seen the movie As Time Goes By but will make a point to torrent it and give it a watch. We were watching the BBC sitcom As Time Goes By with Judi Dench & Geoffrey Palmer. I think it is really funny. It is about two lovers who had not seen each other for something like four decades and reunite.

Refraining from talking about girls with English/Australian accents it's the internet and my fervor for them would just come off creepy.

To be quite honest Pictor, I am unable to differentiate between the many accents in England. To me they all sound the same...AWESOME!!! Yorkshire, Liverpool, Cockney...all the same.

Dame Judi Dench was born pretty close to where I am, and Sir Patrick Stuart a little further south - and in more relaxed moments, their Yorkshire roots can appear a little when speaking.
Depends who I'm talking to, and if I need to mind my P's & Q's [emoji23]

I have to say I have an astute ear for accents. I had a student walk in and ask who the teacher was and I said "Hello, that's me. And you are originally from Yorkshire, but do I hear some Brighton in there?" and I got 
from her and "My god yes, my husband is from Brighton!"
Her poor daughter, having just moved here to join her parents in Castle Rock had her teachers recommend that she be in Special Ed because everyone at the school couldn't understand her, they thought she was speaking gibberish. When my student and her husband went to talk with the principal they both suddenly dropped their Americanized accents and went back to their original accents randomly from sentence to sentence. No one understood them with their natural unaffected accents so at the end of their talk with the principal he went "Yeah.....okay, we will try harder. I didn't really understand most of that....er....."
