Let me chime in with my experience -- three batteries (in my case all 510s, 2x regular and one "mega" 280 mAh) and one charger is bad even for one person -- for two people you'll definitely need 2 chargers, and 2 batteries (or a battery and a passthru) of each type.

If you just wanna try both, and definitely plan on ordering more gear later, you could squeak by with cart 2, but I'd really recommend adding the eGo charger (as you did) and an eGo passthru and/or a second eGo battery.

thought I chime in about the riva....bf and I share 3 batteries, a charger and a PT....he is in charge of making sure all the batteries are charged and I cook(DIY) the juice. We did have 4 batteries until he lost one about a wk ago. Not in our budget to get another one esp this month our car going to need fuel pump. Yeah he is kicking himself but...........

Well this month my daughter brought a Bauway Spring extreme kit but in her kit there is no wall adapter just the charger. He is in charge of that as well.

I say the riva is the way to go if you are not looking for "analog style" and want the longer life.

Get 2 riva kits, If they have more than 1 color you should get 2 different colors. mix & match your gear to suit the mood. getting 2 rivas is a no brainer

Unless there's some reason to get small batteries, go with the Riva or eGo. Those little 510 batt's will drive you nuts very quickly if you smoked anything over 1/2 pack a day.

you got some great advice. get 2 eGo's or 2 Riva's and you will be happy. i highly recommend mega eGo cartridges which hold LOTS of juice-they need a mega eGo atomizer. also mega eGo cartomizers (im not sold on them-havent had good luck but others seem to like em)...and a mega eGo drip tip would be awesome! have fun!

I would get separate chargers. there is conflicting information I've seen on this forum about which charger will destroy the other battery type (or not).

And if the Ego has an LR atty be sure to get a regular atty for the 510.

I don't blame you for wanting to try and possibly use both.

In another cart, I decided to start out with the 510 starter kit. Now I had to assemble an eGo cig. So I add 1 900mah battery (40% longer life compared to the 650's) and I added a cone for an official eGo look. I decided to keep the 510 charger to charge the eGo. It takes longer *but* it's safer than vice-versa.

Depending on the charger that comes with the 510 kit you may or may not be able to charge the eGo. I cannot use my 510 charger to charge my eGos (yes, I tried when my ego charger was acting a bit stubborn) so that probably isn't the best option, plus it would take forever if it did work. Another problem with that would be that with a 510 kit one is on the charger, one is in use there is really is no down time for the charger in which you could charge the 900mah battery.

I agree with the previous posters, go with 2 riva kits, you don't want to be without a backup charger. Most of the time no one will go from a eGo/riva back to a 510 but will progress to a mod, it very rarely works in reverse. After vaping for a couple weeks, most people tend to want to upgrade, even from the 510 which is a good, solid kit; the recommendations here are from all of us that have found that the riva/egos are more effective vaping on a day to day basis and a great place to start. I have a beautiful dark green 510 Mega kit with green LED that I loved, but is gathering dust in my supplies drawer and probably will never see the light of day again.

I dived in and made the purchase. I didn't go with either cart so I'm sorry for even asking the question in a sense. You guys made me doubt cart 2 (my favorite) and after a few messages here and a couple emails with liberty-flights, I was convinced the 510 could wait another day.

I didn't buy Rivas although they were at a lower cost. I went ahead and got the eGo kit. Maybe brand recognition got the best of me? I got into the whole idea of e-cigs because of Joye. That's another long story though. You Riva lovers can hate and say I told you so later

I got 4 5ml juices (2 pg, 2 vg) and 5 eGo XL cartomizers. I got 1 drip tip and 1 18g/5ml needle. From here on out, the first thing I want to do is get to mixing *but* I suppose I'll have some time to research it. Good luck to me and thanks to all of you for your input!. The batteries and atomizers won't last forever, and you may find you need something else in the future. The important thing is that you have started a new path away from smoking. Enjoy it. You might be in the market for something different in the near future, but you can afford to shop a little longer after you have gear to use. Some of us started with pretty crappy devices, but none of it was wasted. We're all here, enjoying it.

I'm glad you emailed liberty flights directly and you made an informed choice. EGo, Riva, it isn't really that big of a difference..mostly it is because of the cost that the LF riva is recommended more. Congrats on your purchase!

I went into it thinking, "I can still smoke if I want to," and I still give myself permission without beating myself up about it, but I will not buy a pack after I have spent so much on vaping. I have smoked about 50 or so cigarettes since starting in August. 48 of those were right after I started in two days when I got a terrible head cold, the rest were just to see how it felt to smoke an analog again. The last was on New Years Eve, it felt alien in my hand, tasted awful and I took maybe three drags and trashed the remaining cigarette. Before vaping I could have never just wasted a "good" cigarette like that.

one thing i did while waiting for my first kit was to switch up brands of smokes for those few days, so that having something different would be like rotating between brands... FWIW and i havent had an analog since last wednesday =)

I've just started using them, and I just ordered about 30 more. I like them.. some dont.. so far I haven't had any problems, and I've tried all the different types of cartos.

That about sums it up!! lol... for those of us vaping for longer than the initial 'fun' stage, we often watch the bottom line... and have learned to 'stock up' when things are on sale!... The first ecig I 'ordered' was a 510 kit from Cignot.. but I was too impatient.. ran out to a local store and bought a small little 808 kit for a fortune. THAT became my first.. and it was way over priced.

The egos and the riva are compatible.. so it wont be too long before you have both. You'll need a back up, or a replacement, and you'll soon find out what a lot of us do. Even if it starts out about money (cigs are SO darn expensive)... it ends UP being about your health, once you realize you can breathe again... and smell again... and it becomes clear just how valuable that is!!

I'm going to jump in and recommend an ego passthrough they are awesome and don't require a charger as they have a mini USB port which allows you to charge it and use it at the same time check it out it's my new go to ego I honestly haven't had to touch my other 2 ego bats since I got it
