when i first came to this site, i was so uneducated, i didn't even know where to begin. however, thanks to the wealth of info. provided by those here, i now actually have a few somewhat understandable questions...ok, hopefully, lol:

above all other desires, my goal is to have a system that gives you *the most drags before refilling*. many have mentioned the eGo-T, and it seems pretty close to what i'd create if i were just a tad smarter ;) -- a tank system. however, when i started researching them, i realized that there are several brands -- such as the Ovale, the Joye, etc., and there are also those that have no brand name on them at all...is there a difference between brands of eGo-T's as far as performance is concerned?

are there any other tank systems that are just as good or better than the eGo-T (in terms of juice capacity)? what is the longest lasting manual battery? and lastly (for now, anyway, lol), what is the best "plug in" for home use?

also, if you have any suggestions on reputable sites to purchase from, both those that have starter kits as well as those that sell pieces separately so that you can accumulate your arsenal over time, i'd really appreciate it.

thanks again for helping all us noobs. :)

As for the branding of e-cigs: Joye is a manufacturer (producing someone else's designs), they make eGo's and 510's. They have licensed their product out for resale under other names (sort of like how some 'store brands' are actually big name brands but licensed out for resale as 'Kirkland' for example) so now, Ovale and Tornado though sold under those brand names are actually Joye products. It's called 'co-branding'.

Some of the other ones (Riva for example) are not manufactured by Joye but are very similar in design and totally compatible with the Original Joye eGo products. Perhaps they didn't want to pay the licensing fee or something? Yes, they are a knock-off, but many people are happy with them and some even prefer them over the Joye product.

Riva doesn't have a Tank system yet, but because they are compatible with the Joye tank system a good option is to get the Riva system and then add-on an eGo-T atomizer and pack of eGo-T tanks. I prefer having the tank as an add-on to your regular eGo or Riva purchase because the tank is so new and I fear the bugs are not all worked out yet -- this way you could still use the atomizer and carts that come with the Riva/eGo if you find you aren't happy with the tank system.

Having tried my eGo batteries the following ways:

• atomizer/carts
• cartomizer
• drip tip
• clearomizer
• eGo cartomizer

my favorite so far has been the clearomizer, BUT I just learned of two new things that I think will put me in vaping heaven: the map tank, and this other one that I can't remember the name of... it's like a connector where you screw your eGo battery on one side of it and a bottle of e-liquid on the other side and it sucks the juice right out of the bottle into your atomizer. I wish I could remember what that thing was called....

This part sounds like you are describing a box mod or other of the bigger mods. There are systems that you can put your own rechargeable 18650 mah battery into and it'll stay charged for days. There are ones where you put a bottle of e-liquid inside and when the atty gets dry you give it a little squeeze...

You can get a cheap ($20) ego passthrough if you like, I think it runs at 5v (warmer vapor - runs hotter) and you can unplug it from your computer and take it with you too.

I like:
clouds of vapor
liberty flights
cignot

(fwiw: you can get the clearomizers at gotvapes.com

thanks so much for all of the informative answers to my posts, especially, Rosa. :) ya see, i'm such a noob, i had problems finding my previous posts until now, lol. therefore, i posted the following earlier on another thread, but i thought i'd put it here as well, in case more are reading in this area:

a few last (really dumb) questions before i make my purchase!:

seeing as the 1000's are only a few dollars more, what would be the advantage of ordering two 650's or one 1000 and one 650? since manual batts last longer, why aren't most people buying them for the ego-t? does the charger in the kit charge both 650 & 1000's of either type (manual or non)? if you have a black tank, are you unable to visually tell when they are running out of juice?

hey, i warned ya about the questions being really dumb, lol...thanks for any insight you can offer.

I am also new, just got my eGo-T about a week ago from Clouds of vapor.

Im nearly as new as you so take what I say with a grain of salt as I am learning by doing.

Most of the Tanks are Ego-T's ( I think there is one knock off brand out there but I have heard nothing bad at all about it )

I got mine form Clouds of Vapor and am satisfied with what I received, no problems

Here are some tips

Clean out the Atty! Blow it out from the battery side into a paper towel, when you think you have it all, give it another hard blow.

Prime the atty by dropping 3 good drops of e-liquid directly onto the puncture device ( it will spill around it but that does not matter ) before using your first tank.

You don’t really need a syringe, the tank caps can be popped off and the tanks filled directly from the drip bottles and the caps will pop back on... I have had no leaking issue with the tanks

When putting in a tank... line the groves in the side of the tank with the spaces over the atty cover with the puncture device ( you will see what I mean ) makes the draw much MUCH easier and everything working as it should.

I have had a couple of leaking issues but found that when switching tanks, clean the inside walls of the atty cover and do not prime the atty again before popping on a new tank. It still has juice from the last tank.

No more leaks now...

I like the eGo, I like the tank, but this is my first e-Cig so I don’t have a lot to compare it too.

My responses in bold:

a few last (really dumb) questions before i make my purchase!:

* seeing as the 1000's are only a few dollars more, what would be the advantage of ordering two 650's or one 1000 and one 650?

I think some people just don't like the size of the 1000mah battery, especially when they are first starting out. It's hard enough convincing the newbie that they need a thicker battery to start with, harder still to sell them on one that's also an inch longer than a standard 510 battery. Also, the 650mah batts last most people about 8 hours and the starter kit comes with two of them, so most people don't really need a 1000mah battery.

* since manual batts last longer, why aren't most people buying them for the ego-t?

They are getting manual batts afaik.

* does the charger in the kit charge both 650 & 1000's of either type (manual or non)?

Yes, but it won't charge the smaller 180mah 510 battery (battery go pop)

* if you have a black tank, are you unable to visually tell when they are running out of juice?

Not sure... probably not... they are new, but I thought they only came in the see through white or blue... I know that some kits come with the black cart on the end of the tank when you first open the box, but afaik that's not actually a tank it's like a place holder.

Hope that helps :)

I would love to have a VapeMate. With such a device, no one can ever accuse you of being smoking again. "Sir! You're not allowed to smo... Oh, I´m so sorry. Obviously that is a medical device and you must certainly have a terrible disease. Now if you´ll excuse me, I´ll go and flog myself."
