A blue foam alternative

I haven't been able to find blue foam in my area. So I was wandering through the hardware dept and I spotted a wet filter for a shop Vac, I realized it looked a lot like the pics I'd seen of the blue foam, so I bought one. It works beautifully. I cut it based on the original directions for the blue foam, I am very very happy with it. Mine was less expensive than the above link, btw.

The purpose of using aquarium filter foam is that it can't contain too many chemicals or else it would kill fish. There's no particular need to avoid chemicals with a ShopVac filter.
