Hello all,

I'm on week 2 of switching from analogs. It's been a fairly easy transition, but noticing a couple things that have me looking towards getting the Protege. My current setup is a KR808 from V4L, which has worked out great (cartomizer ease-of-use rocks). Also using the USB PT, which is even more great.

However...

I've been on vacation for about a week, and using the PT about 80% of the time. It has spoiled me for consistent/higher voltages. The V4L batteries still work fine, but I'd love to be able to get that "fresh off the charger" feel for the whole day. After looking over the various options, the Protege is the current front-runner. Soooo....a couple questions:

1. Does the Protege ship with the new mechanical battery? Or does it still come with the tact switch?

2. I really dig the KR808 cartomizers. I'd read some older threads where people had to get a KR808 adapter from another vendor, but it looks like you guys have your own now? If so, is it safe to assume they will work with cartos from V4L and the PS Ace Atomz?

3. Anyone here make the move from V4L batteries to the Protege (using cartos) and wouldn't mind providing a comparison on how it draws?

Lastly, anyone got some pics of the Protege hooked up with a carto? Just trying to get an overall idea of length and look.

So yeah, it was 4-5 questions, and I started out saying just a couple. But, being my first big battery mod, I wanna make the right choice - unlike the Sidesho and Volcano I bought before moving to the VK.

Thanks all,
-adam

The V4L batteries still work fine, but I'd love to be able to get that "fresh off the charger" feel for the whole day. After looking over the various options, the Protege is the current front-runner. Soooo....a couple questions:

1. Does the Protege ship with the new mechanical battery? Or does it still come with the tact switch? I don't think it ships with the mechanical switch, you have to order that as an upgrade.

2. I really dig the KR808 cartomizers. I'd read some older threads where people had to get a KR808 adapter from another vendor, but it looks like you guys have your own now? If so, is it safe to assume they will work with cartos from V4L and the PS Ace Atomz? Works with the atomz for sho.

3. Anyone here make the move from V4L batteries to the Protege (using cartos) and wouldn't mind providing a comparison on how it draws? My guess would be that the fresh off the charger vape is similar, since they are the same voltage, however the protege's "fresh of the charger vape" will be extremely longer considering the more powerful battery higher MAH etc.

Lastly, anyone got some pics of the Protege hooked up with a carto? Just trying to get an overall idea of length and look. Not i said the duck.

So yeah, it was 4-5 questions, and I started out saying just a couple. But, being my first big battery mod, I wanna make the right choice - unlike the Sidesho and Volcano I bought before moving to the VK.

Another note i would make is this. If you are a big fan of the vape provided by the PT, you may be better off going with the Prodigy V2, the voltage on the PT is higher than the protege by about .5v on average, the vape from the V2 would be more similar to the PT.

Thanks all,
-adam

See red. Just my take.

Thanks Gibby. I've considered the Prodigy to get 5v vapes like the PT, just kinda hesitant due to the size. I'll definitely give it another look, cuz like I said, I don't wanna have to run thru another 2-3 PVs to find my next go-to vape.

Thanks again,

Ahh, yeah it is definitely a bit bigger than the protege.

Good luck to you.

Here is a protege with cartomizer (don't mind the purple team cheerleading duck, she's just has to have her pic taken everywhere):

great Pics Synthesis !!! Highlighter gave me an idea. Just took a pic of the Protege/Prodigy V2/Highlighter ... so people can get a firm grasp on size. The Prodigy V2 is roughly 3/4" longer than the Protege. Will edit and add to this post when done uploading.
But I thought the Trusty Sharpy was the OFFICIAL PV measuring device?hehe

Just-Cass ... Simon will be having a shipment of Protege's and new Mechanical Switches for them coming in either the end of the First week in January, or the start of the 2nd week in January! Make sure to order ahead of time! They do go fast on his site!!! I hope you enjoy it !

Are mechanical switches will be available also i e-cigs.co.uk?
I'm desperate to buy one mechanical switch and 510 adapter for my protege.
