A Dark day in ECF

Today has definitely been a dark one all around.
Today ECF has lost Switched (Switcher) I'm not too keen on the details,
but I do know that it was a politically based argument. He received a perma-ban.
Meaning that without any type of intervention, he is banned from the ECF forum indefinitely.
He is a good man and will always stick to what he believes in. He has gave so much of his time helping and educating others by his own veteran like experience tallying up nearly 6,000 posts. ECF was his home and for man of his caliber to lose home is a very painful thing to witness let alone to live through.

I really hope with all that i am that his banishment is only temporary as he Loves his life and home here on ECF. This is really devastating to all of us and a pure tragedy.
From in depth Beta testing products for everyone, to helping anyone out anyway he can and being a real true friend.

Switched united us all into a solid family. Forum life will not be the same nor half as enjoyable without his presence.
On a side note, he will continue to perfect the Caliber series and bring it into fruition with his own bare hands.

He will continue to spend his time on vape TV in the UK and will be able to read all of our posts BUT will not be able to help or respond to them on ECF no longer.
I sincerely wish with my heart that the staff can forgive him and allow him passage into ECF as he will be sincerely missed

That is unbelievably Isaac. The few times I've needed help, he's been quick with it. With the wealth of information in his posts, he's been a beacon of light for me and I'm sure countless others.
Is there any thing we can do. A campaign or petition to the mod's? A would gladly do anything I can to try to rectify this situation.

Wow I have only spoken with him through ongoing conversation but have learned alot just reading his posts...such a wealth of knowledge to everyone ...what a shame, let me know of any petitions I will definately sign!

If there is anything I can do let me know. You should be able to have different views without being banned. There is no way everyone will agree all of the time. That is what makes this forum so popular. People have opinions.

Actually, I consider Switched a friend of mine. I know I don't spend a lot of time over here, but do pop in once in a while to say hi to him. I have no idea what he was banned over, but I am pretty sure he stuck to his guns on something he believed in. I obviously don't know the details, but If ECF doesn't want that kind of banter they should just get rid of the outside/politics or what ever. If the mods are keeping this a perma-ban, their loss, not his. There are other forums...

Jeez, we all know he ain't the first one banned for strange circumstances nor will he be the last -- I too have found him a wealth of info, this is a shame. Was it an 'Outside' conversation? I would think that's what the word outside implies, that its outside the forum's normal-speak and can be free-forming conversation -- but I reckon not! 8-o Hell, I miss Mr. Mad, some of that stuff was funny!!!

Yeah I have to agree re: outside/politics threads and trying to moderate. There is nothing moderate about politics and we are a group of people bound by only one thing here --> vaping. It stands to reason that people will clash and in that clashing people will become upset. BUT that is the nature of politics and though personal attacks are never a good thing, they are a part of life when folks speak up regarding their position on certain hot topics.

I am a fairly new member of ECF and I am not a supplier, but maybe that gives me a more objective view. If Switched has only 'sinned' in political forums, and mostly been helpful in the more specific vaping/e-cig threads, then maybe this ban should be reconsidered. Since we don't know exactly why he was banned because his threads have been edited, then we are like a group of protected children... which is not fair to any of us. And yeah - its not our forum... oh but wait! It is!

I am not trying to cause trouble, I just like to be able to understand why something happens when it clearly effects members of this forum.

It wasn't Outside. It was a discussion about PACT in the Candian subforum, I belive. I read the whole thread. I found nothing there (except for one comment that had been deleted) that deserved any kind of a ban, IMO. Unless there more I don't know about... And Switched offered an apology.

I think we should intervene. Would it help if we gathered signatures and sent a letter on his behalf to the Administration? Is Smokum in charge of the Canadian forum?

I think it's both a terrible injustice and a painful loss for ECF. Please let me know what you want to do; I'd be happy to sign a petition asking for his reinstatemnet.

I've only been involved in a few conversations with Switched, but he seems like a good guy with serious convictions. I've seen others attempt to get him fired up with inane comments & he seemed to keep his cool, while maintaining his position. With that said, I've seen people belittled & threads derailed with no intervention whatsoever. Perhaps it's a matter of who you piss off & not what you say?

This is just not right. Whatever the reason for the banning, it's not right. This must have todo with Switcher becoming a mod maker and vendor after first being a long time member. Oh, now I see the tiff in the PACT thread on the Canadian subforum.

What can we do to fix this?
