A Decade Of Vaping - Do You Remember When?

Does anyone remember the little diy mods that madvapes sold? They used 14500 batteries, were a white plastic box and had a little wheel you spun to get it up to 5 volts? I still have mine. I tried to upload a picture but I couldn't figure out how.

I got one of the little non-VV Madvapes boxes. I wasn't sure about VV yet. Then I ended up with a Lambo and some Twists and fell in love with VV.

I can't go back and get one of those MadVapes boxes. But, I can buy the newer version: Tesla Nano, DovPo MVV, Smoant Charon Adjustable 218W, Wismec Noisy Cricket II-22, etc.

I remember watching this lady on YouTube and building a tin box mod, it was my first step up from an Ego battery and a T3s bottom coil clearo...

I loved how she was just a regular everyday person. I am to this day grateful for the knowledge she shared, it helped me understand what was going on inside a vape setup, and because she was a normal everyday person, made me more comfortable personally, to become a vaper...

I remember building VV mods using a Texas Instruments 4050c chip. With a 1.8 ohm carto tank. Thought it would never get better than that.

I remember Cozzicon, a member here and reviewer, doing a vid on the Twist when it came out @ a vape shop. All wide eyed and excited, lol. As was I. Gamechanger for those of us that didn't want the Provari/Buzz/Darwin/MVP.
I ended up waiting for the Istick tho, very much disliked using an ego charger and was using usb charged egos then.

I think the USB eGo pass throughs were largely responsible for me stopping smoking.
While the clearomizers I was using (with hippie wicks) leaked like SOBs, I knew having constant
Battery charge, a back up device, the ability to replenish some charge while working,
Relaxing online, etc was secure enough to toss the last Zippo in a drawer, clean the ashtrays and
Never look back.

The device ladder was all based on longevity and peace of mind for me.
Hippie wick Clear O Mizers?. Anyone?

I remember the condom method to fill Carto' s, which I never got good at and gave up, I remember using scotch tape on clear Carto's that cracked, those sucked

So why haven't I tossed out the still in opened boxes..?? They're part of the stash from paranoia days.
And custom (beauty) carto tanks??
Anyone else here get into custom crafted tanks?
Are the glass artists gone now, or are the talents redirected??

Admittedly I haven't tried to visit Phiniac, IBTtanked, in years albeit I'm appreciative to all of them.

It's delightful to find 1100mAh ego pass thru are still available at this writing, hopefully
Helping some 18 yr olds to find easier way to break off 6-7 years Marlboros.

I'm coming up on 10 years in Aug. I remember having to carry 6 of the cigarette looking ones just to get through an 8hr shift. Now my 30w IStick and Nautilus tank goes all day.

No doubt this is a dynamic industry!
You've got to stay up with changes. They were great for what they did, and we can always find uses to re purpose those
Thingy's.....like storing unused tanks-back ups
