Hello! My name is Amy and I am a student journalist at Stony Brook University. I am currently working on my capstone story for graduation on the culture of electronic cigarettes and their potential as a tool to quit smoking. As a former smoker myself, I know how hard it is to break the habit.

I want to hear your stories.

I am looking for people who live in the New York City/Long Island area who have successfully quit smoking using e-cigs or who are currently using them as a quitting tool. I am also looking for experienced vapers who can demonstrate or explain nicotine "juice" and the various ways in which they can be used to create a personal e-cig experience.

If you are interested and available for an interview, please do not hesitate to get in touch. My email is art.onorato@yahoo.com. I look forward to learning and working with you.

Quitting smoking is more like a discipline and vaping is just a key to make the discipline less difficult. So generally speaking, you really have to discipline yourself over it and have a sense of self-control. Nevertheless, vaping will help you have an alternative. I suggest you mix both up right now and then cessate from smoking slowly until you cut it out of your life.

If you are an ex-smoker then you must know that the addiction is not only to nicotine. The addiction is an all emcompassing way of life. It involves social behaviors, emotional behaviors, and other various factors I could list for you. ECF has a lot of powerful information and is available to peruse at your leisure. On the front page of this forum you can find all the links to the various parts of this forum.

If you quit smoking cold turkey, my hat is off to you. Not many people have that kind of fortitude.
