I know that as this forum could go a week or more without a new post..why didn't you all visit (post) here before you where kicked out of you home (Provari APV)?...I know that as this forum could go a week or more without a new post..why didn't you all visit (post) here before you where kicked out of you home (Provari APV) ?

Why do you think Provape is looking for a http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/554624-forum-helper.html .... They probably cant keep up with it...As an ECF Veteran yourself you know this forum has been overrun lately... Baditude you were her when this forum was dead.....Help get it in order....please:)
I would visit maybe once a week in the Provape Forum. No need to visit here any more often than that because it literally WAS a ghost town here. Not to judge the people who posted here, but frankly those folks didn't know how to have fun in a forum setting. Quite honestly the most "lively" thread was a "show what tank you have on your Provari". Boring....

Before the Provari Forum was closed, there might be a couple people in this forum browsing at any given time. Now its not unusual to see up to 30 people browsing at any given time. The Provarinati have brought much needed "traffic" here, and my guess is Provape is happy to get all this additional attention.

Many of the posters from the recently closed APV Provari forum are new Provari owners, who the majority probably didn't even know this Provape Forum even existed. And the veterans who did know about it, why would they recommend the newcomers to come here? What did this place offer that the Provari Forum didn't?

And BTW, our old forum was not shut down because of us and our actions, it was shut down because ECF was restructuring the entire ECF forum and chose to do away with ALL the mod specific forums.

I am not going to be the new forum helper. The forum rules are too restrictive. I would not be allowed to post in the other general forums, and I feel that I would be able to do more good by posting in those areas than be limited to just this one. I'll continue to post here as I always have in the past, just not as an official Provape sales associate.

The intent of this thread and how it has been accepted obviously do not go hand in hand. I have to take the full responsibility for my poor choice of wording and how I posted it. The context beyond that is not mine.

I think that this thread, is a hint as to who, our new forum helper is going to be.

KAS

Since you opened that can of worms KAS… Yes I was asked after Bad declined. I have not replied to that PM, and I will not be replying to it. I’m not the right person for the job, nor did I want the job..... for the same reasons Bad declined, and for many other reasons that are my own.

This is all I have to say about any of this… ProVape can sort it out as they see fit.

A few comments on the new ProVari model from ProVape.
Many of you have had questions about the new ProVari. When will it be released? What functions will it have? We can tell you this:
It will be safe. ProVari has a total commitment to safety. If you push the button on a ProVari and it vapes, you can assume it is safe to do so.
It will be rugged. ProVari uses only the finest materials that are manufactured to the highest standards in the industry.
It will be made in the United States. Every part in the ProVari (including its electronic components) is manufactured in the USA, and must meet our high quality standards.
It will be released when it’s ready. We don’t even know when that will be. In order for a new ProVari model to be released, it has to go through an incredibly rigorous and time consuming testing process.
We’re honored to have thousands of ProVari customers around the world. We recognize that it is our dealers and customers that have made us one of the leading electronic cigarette manufacturers. Our goal is to provide the absolute best product offered in the industry. Look for more news soon!

I personally have nothing to add at this time, so please don't ask.
Thanks folks.
There is nothing in that post that has not already been known since the version 2.5 came out. I think ProVape handed you a can of worms and threw you to the wolves.

I fail to see why ProVape actually "needs" another moderator. There are a group of people here, three of which are extremely well known who act as moderators in all but name (without the stigma of actually being a moderator). In addition, there are about 20 more core individuals who are very experienced with the ProVari, typically own more than three, and are quick to troubleshoot and share advice.

Long term members of the now defunct "ProVari" forum will remember that very little moderation was actually needed in those forums. What little there was usually involved scantily clad pictures of people in their underwear or profanity, either of which is easy enough for regular members to report.

I think it has to do more with the ever-increasing volume of posts/threads/members..

Not just here, but across the ECF universe...

Additional moderators, consolidation of sub-forums (to make things more stream-lined & easier to moderate) & the expansion of servers are the result of an ever-growing vaping community...

I have had Provape products since their inception so that tells you how long I have been vaping....Sometimes I forget that there are noob's looking for help or just excited to share..... Here is a recently opened thread that follows that suggestion. Keeps things in one orderly manner, instead of new threads opening up everyday stating the same old thing :2c:

Dear Prickly Person,

I did visit here, and I posted. I even started a thread, but not one single ProVape person or helper answered me. You did, but they didn't and that's who I directed my question to. It didn't make me feel very welcome. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/478283-im-wondering.html.

I would like to help organize this forum, especially the sticky section, but it's not worth it to me to have to become a Supplier Associate.

It was just a guess, based on the info you provided.

In my experience, trying keep people organized in a forum is kind of like herding cats.... It's impossible and you simply end up with a bunch of meowing kitties.

Sticky the important stuff. Announcements from the company, Contests, helpful threads (such as cleaning instructions or an online manual). Then lock the stickied thread. For example sticky a contest, then lock it 24 hours after it's over. Those who didn't say congrats, tough.

Then you let the regular part of the forum kind of take care of itself. Threads that are of interest will prosper and take a life of their own (like the saloon) and some threads will die a natural death. You can have an "unpublished" policy of locking and archiving any non-stickied thread that has no activity for 4 weeks. The reason I say unpublished, is because if people know their stuff will be deleted, they usually "bump" the thread and we don't want to have a bunch of bumping just to stay active.

Trying, however, to regulate people to use existing threads (like here is my new ProVari thread, or what do you want to see in V3 thread, or what's your favorite kayfun build thread. ) is an exercise in futility.

1. It makes people look and feel like idiots. When you get that post from someone who says.....please post here...or it's deleted by an over zealous mod with a curt .....thread already exists....Then you just alienate people. No body likes to feel like a noob, even if they are. When I first got my ProVari, if you all had sent me to the corner without dinner because I didn't search two pages for the active 'unboxing' thread, I would have assumed you were the bunch of jerks people made the Provarinati out to be. Especially in my case since my ProVari purchase ended up in a lot of mea culpa and eating of crow as it was.....To have someone go....."you should have posted it here" would have sent me screaming out of here.

2. It clutters up the thread..... Nothing destroys a thread flow more than some nag from walking in an saying....hey...you should discuss this here....or hey, theres already an open thread on this. It's like when you get shushed in a movie theatre. The shusher is often louder than you are. Same thing applies. We post to tell people where to post and we compound the problem.

So... In a nutshell here's my suggestions:

1. All "official" company originated correspondence gets stickied. Those announcements not requiring comment from the gallery are immediately locked.
2. Contest stickies are locked 24 to 48 hours after expiration.
3. inactive and dead posts are locked and or archived after 4 weeks of inactivity
4. Stickies are regularly reviewed and removed after they become irrelevant. (we really don't need to read about a contest from 2 years ago, nor do we need to read about polished models being discontinued when they have been re-continued).
5. Stickies are reviewed and removed when they provide inaccurate information. (such as announcements about no longer available colors).

Hope this helps.

I thought it was a word I made up from two other words ....... and a..wipe. Take out the a... and you have jackwipe.

Didn't know it already had an urban meaning.....

I'd still like to write a "ProVarinati (with a disclaimer of Noti for those who feels it's dumb and don't want to play) Welcome" sticky with links to real info, like Edd's cleaning tips and the (actual) Sacred Text of Manual ProVape PDF. I started a thread like it in the ProVarinati forum, but it got side-tracked, as is the way of our people. I would also like access to the original first post, so I can edit it as information changes. There must be a way to give me access to one sticky without making me a mod - or at least have a helper occasionally update it for me with the text/images I supply to them.

I would like to see other stickies as well, similar to how Reosmods is organized. I am very impressed with the layout of their forum and would would hang out there more often, but they are a bit deficient in sarcasm detection.

There's a project underway to clean up around here. ProVape actually just added someone to staff to help work on it!

Why are there so many stickies in this sub-forum anyway? As one of the proverbial provari newbies around these parts (I plan on buying a provari in two weeks as b-day present to myself) I actually find it quite a pain to scroll down past all those stickies once a day when I want to check out what's new here...
