Yes , that is what i have, i like that i can choose my nic level. I am hoping to get off nicotine all together. It still takes a bit of will power but its not as hard. I did end up lighting up an analog today but for me this is a victory and the fact that i am smoking less. If this keeps up i should be smoke free very soon. vape free well it will take a bit but in the long run we can lower the nic and we are not getting all those 4000 chemicals that make it hard to breath and is literally killing us.

EXACTLY! With the patches I at least smoke a lot less, but they are worthless around any kind of alcoholic drink, for me anyway. So if I can use something while drinking that still give me the bump I would like to have, I will be set. I too want to slowly slim down the amount of nicotine over time.

Hey, another American Spirit Blue smoker! Someone who feels the exquisite pain of no mouth/throat hit quite being like what we're used to.

I just picked up my first starter kit from the local B&M (that's brick and mortar, if you're not familiar) yesterday, and spent all day hitting off of it, partly I think because of the novelty, and partly to try and make up for the particular strength of the analogs. So I burned through almost 2 ml of liquid in half a day, and today's not looking much better! Except it is better, because it tastes better and smells better, right?

For a starter kit that *I* think is pretty quality, you can find one from Vape Dojo online for pretty darn cheap. It's a regular eGo battery, a CE4 clearomizer and a charger. Picked up a spare battery and some juices to try, and cost me about the same as a can of my tobacco. I know it's not top-of-the-line mechanicals, but for me it was enough to get me started with something closer to serious vaping than the cig-a-likes that never really scratched my itch.

Hello and Welcome.

So i would recomend getting a 1 single ego twist. I say this because of the dif types of items that deliver juice and a twist will allow you to try each till you find one that works for you then look into a better device. Unlike my self because of the deal and price my B&M gave me i started with an ego twist kit. Now each person if dif on their juice delivery system. I tried quite a few. The unfortunet part is your more then likely to have to try a few till you find yours.

Further: I had to supply 4 other family members with starter kits. The Spinner (like an Ego Twist) and Clearomizers were the most simple effective things I could find. None of them are inclined to make a hobby of this and I knew that any failures would cause reverting back to cigarettes. This combination has allowed me to keep common spares (one dropped her Spinner, another broke her charger) and avoid any excuses for backsliding. It has become somewhat of a quest for me and has worked for three months - not a cigarette used so far (and we could smell any cheating!).

And each "user" has a single 1300mh battery that they charge nightly.

lol the kit i spoke of from the B&M included this: 2 Ego Twists 1 1000mah 1 650mah, charger set the usb and wall adapter, 2 clearo's and 6ml of juice.
Of course i didnt follow my better judgement on that because i just kept thinking if i dont get it now i wont have a back up incase i dropped and broke one and go back to cigs and then to buy a single bat it would cost more. If i had hind sight i would have only went with 1 bat because i baby all my toys and make sure i have what i need to keep it in perfect condition. But oh well i chalk it up to learning. lol

Disagree. You did the right thing as you always need a backup. Cigarettes are so disgusting after you vape for a week or so. I would probably go to flavored pg/vg rather than cigarettes if the FDA went Gestapo!

Exactly, I don't drink but i know what you mean on weekends when i sitting around with friends who do drink, sitting around twiddling my thumbs doesn't cut it for me. My husband drinks and he is loving the e cig. Only down fall is he needs to get his own kit as i want my second e cig for my lower doses through the day. Right now i am switching the tube cartilages that i got extra with the kit. If i can even have the 0 nic and be able to use that in time when i am out with friends, then i happy. I can't see myself without the vape but you never know what time will bring.

I think that if i was to inhale every drag of my e cig then i wouldn't turn to analogs at all. I am still in the afraid to inhale to much with the unknown. I have only used 1 fill in 2 1/2 days. Where i have read some people going through a lot more in a day. All in all these things work!

I would bet on the e-liquid over the tar and chemicals in cigarettes. We used the little disposable filters for a couple years before e-cigs and the amount of tar in only a couple cigarettes was amazing. I had to buy the filters by the 1,000 on ebay to even afford them.

I was in the same boat as you. I wanted to quit but the patches and gum didn't really work worth a darn. I tried vaping and have had quite a bit more success. I used to smoke at least a pack a day. My routine was to buy a carton every Thursday. I would go through all 10 packs in that time. Since I started vaping, I haven't bought a carton in almost 2 months. I still smoke regular cigarettes but I would guess no more than about 2 packs a week at the MOST. Typically, it is only one. And I have only bought them because the crappy e-cig I had at the time was always going dead.

My wife (also a wonderful woman) likes that I have switched because she doesn't smell the smoke, doesn't have to worry about second hand smoke, and because it is healthier for me. I think these things are a bit of a godsend.

Happy for you. Just hang in there. My wife and I were fortunate to be able to switch without urges to smoke. Must have been all the filters we used.

Filters aren't an answer, but we were not able to stand cigarettes without them. They sure captured a lot of trash.

Ok so I think to start I will pick up the Ego Twist 1000mAh battery unit, thanks for the recommendations. I figure I can always get a provari or equilivant some time in the future. From what I am reading most people will continue using the twist even after buying a higher end unit. I just need to figure out what to put on top. So many options. Can yall help narrow that down? I will probably just get several as yall have suggested. One thing that worries me is having a plastic tank. I read that several people had their VIVI NOVA's strip out. Also it seems that most websites either have the twist, but not the juice, or not the tank or any combination of those. Is there a website that kinda has it all?

Depends upon what you want. I've used Clearomizers, Vivi Nova, Kanger T3, etc. I like the Kanger T3, although some people complain about it. I just preordered a:

Kanger Pro tank glassomizer

and am now using (received yesterday):

Quantum Vapor Innokin iClear30

which I really like. Both are the latest thing in Clearo tanks.

I like TopVapor liquid from Madvapes and liquid from MT Baker. MT Baker has good prices.

I bought my Vamo and other stuff from Abe at http://www.exhalevapors.com/ He has good service and prices.

My first advice from this forum as a newbie was to buy a 1300mh Spinner, a couple Clearomizers, a charger and a bottle of e-liquid. It was good advice, as the set functions perfectly 3 months later. Simple, effective, inexpensive and adequate for quitting cigarettes. I believe in the most simple solution for anyone interested solely in adopting vapeing as an alternative.

Afterwards, if one chooses, it can become a hobby with dozens of power sources, nicotine dispensing devices and hundreds of flavors. The cost of simple vapeing is about $50 to start with enough liquid for about a month, or the cost of one carton of cigarettes. The cost as a hobby can amount to $100's of dollars. I recommend simplicity for the beginner, as the primary goal is to quit cigarettes, not investigate all the new gadgets.

I admit that I try iClears, Pro Tanks, Vamos, etc., now. But I used my simple kit for 2 months before trying more advanced toys. One should concentrate on quitting first, pursuing a hobby second.

Hi Robert, Your past life experience sounds a lot like mine. Boy, did I ever go through a ton of nicotine patches but always ended back up on the analogs. (Having drinks and beers with family and friends who smoked analogs never helped much either.)

My advice would be to start slowly, and learn as much as you can about the vaping world. I started out with the 1st generation ecigs, (V4L. Green Smokes. Blu cigs, etc)then progressed to the eGo C, eGo Twist with clearomizer carts and Vivi Nova tanks. I'm now using the Provari but it was a gentle progression.

I truly loved smoking and thought I could never quit analogs but I did. Don't know about you but I loved to visit the casinos in Biloxi, MS. I can now play my favorite games while sitting next to a heavy analog smoker and never think once about lilting an analog cigarette up.

I say this just to let you know that a lot of us here have more than walked a mile in your shoes. Hang in there, we have your back and welcome to ECF.

Hi Robert. There are a ton of suppliers out there and I'm sure many are excellent. I've used MVS (My Vapor Store) as a one stop shop and was never disappointed. (fast shipping and excellent customer service.)

As your journey progresses, I'm sure that you'll find others which suit your needs.

Contact me if you need other suggestions.

Good luck. We who vape and ECF have your back

IMO Everything NICKSTEEL has been advising you the entire thread is spot on...start out with a vision spinner 1300 mah ($25) or an ego twist 1000 mah ($27) both are very well built, easy to use, are compatible with a wide range of sizes of clearos, tanks, last 1-4 days before recharge (obviously dependant on ur daily use, my twist lasts me 2 days, spinner 2.5 days) both models use same charger (standard ego usb charger, make sure u also buy a usb to wall adapter)

...as far as ur clearo/tank mini viv novas would be my first choice for you, they are very simple to use, refil juice, and pop in a new head (after 3-4 weeks when old one burns out). after studying this forum, it is by far the most popular clearo for noobs & moderate vapers. I know you read a thread or two about the tanks cracking, that is true, it can happen, but the reason for that is there are about 5% of juices out there that contain a certain flavoring type, ie. cinnamin, citrous flavoring...most good juice sites will warn you which ones, have a list on their site, or do a simple search here on forum...Another main clearo/tank is the T3, MT3, Kanger T3 (all basically the same exact thing)...from my limited experience using them and my research on here my opinion is they sure can be great, but don't seem to be quite as "stable" as a vivi nova...a few more leaking/gurgling issues with them...more for someone who's been vaping for 3-9 months so you can understand how to tweak them to avoid leaks/gurgling.

when chosing for a juice vendor, make sure you atleast check out Mt Baker Vapors, u can customize every liquid you buy ie. 80/20, 65/35, 50/50 pg/vg (standard is about 70/30 pg/vg give or take 10%), you pick how much nicotine u want ie. 0 6 12 18 24 32 (noobs prolly need 18 or 24, I use 18), u pick out what size bottle you want...they ship same day (even on Sunday) have GREAT flavors/selection, and their prices are better than reasonable!...

for ur hardware I use ALTsmoke, been around awhile, they've done me well, but look around, there's hundreds of vendors for juices/hardware...

Vivi Novas are now the way to go. Easy to clean and even rebuild.

So I have decided to try and take a different approach. My father-in-law smokes like a chimney (2-3 packs a day). We visit the in-laws on a fairly regular basis and its just hard to not smoke, especially while knocking back a few beers, ok well maybe more than just a few. The patch runs out around noon and I find myself taking it off and just smoking cigs with him.

I had a chance to try the njoy king electronic cigs but they don't work for me. The instructions say to only have a few puffs per hour or something like but the only thing I get out of them is frustration, never a true buzz. I think the American Spirits are to blame there. Everyone who has tried them say they are some of the strongest cigs they have ever tried, just my luck that I would claim them as my brand.

You sir, could use a vape
