I'm looking to try DIY, and I'm looking to make a synthetic tobacco e-liquid that really has that acrid, stout, rough texture and flavor, a really old-school style. I'm having bad luck with tobacco's lately... a lot of them from vendors taste really powdery, sugary, and medical.

I'm really looking for something without any sort of fluffy, sugary, maple-y, or floral taste. If possible, I'd like to use TFA just because they have all the materials right there on the website, and they're one of the big trusted names.

Does anyone know a good flavor I could try?

TFA tobacco flavors are not what you are looking for. They are good but very hard to get them right and they need lots of steeping time. To get more inmediate results according to what you are pursuing I definitely would advice Garuda Tobacco Absolute, by Inawera.

Tobacco Absolute Garuda WG-INW - Bull City Vapor

Start with 10 drops in 10ml base, raise up to 15 if 10 is not enough for you. Good luck.

I like using the Vaping Zone's Gourmet and Super Concentrated flavorings because you use less in a mix so it is more economical for me. (1-3% in a mix rather than 10-15%) I have tried two of their tobaccos and have been very pleased. SevenStar and French Pipe are very good.

Good luck to you. I'm sure you will get many great suggestions here. That's what is so wonderful about ecf.

Unfortunately the TFA tobaccos get a lot of mixed reviews, and when they're not liked, the most common complaint seems to be perfumy/mediciney. I sometimes like a few drops of TFA DK Tobacco mixed with my other tobacco flavors. It's only a buck seventy five at BC, so should be worth a try.

I haven't tried it yet but the Inawera Garuda TA is on my list because of Art's recommendation.

I'd Also recommend trying the SC (China) line at Bull City. Here's a report on the Real Cig from there. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...94-what-you-making-today-45.html#post15620026

Take a look at this thread. Good tobacco discussions going on there.

Try this Brother lets hope i can help you , it works for me

Red Type Blend 6%
M Type Premium 1%
Caramel Original 0.50%
Vanilla Swirl 0.50%
Ethyl Maltol 0.20%

All TPA , Try to let it steep for a month , dont worry about the caramel and vanilla its almost nothing and rounds the Tabacco Flavor quite a bit , for me it taste just like a analog cigarette , smells a lot like ash tray
