i might wait out on purchasing the dna 200... seems like there is still alot of problems
A lot of problems? I've had 2 for a couple of months now and other than a pinched display ribbon, they've been working great. I have 2 more boards and a VS DNA200 coming.
I don't think there are a lot of problems, at least not percentage wise.
I can only give my own experience but to sum it all up, I plan on about six more DNA 200 based mods before I'm done, including at least one commercially made (Lost Vape).
The bugs forum is, for the most part, stuff users would rather and evolv is doing it for us, or some Chinese manufacturing SNAFU. I haven't found any actual "bugs" but plenty of things I'd like to see done and a couple minor annoyances. In each case evolv was remarkably responsive to user input and problem reports.
If you're planning on buying pre-made I'd definitely let the box manufacturers shake out their design and QC "challenges" but for me the boards themselves and the capabilities available through escribe are pretty much amazing.
About $350 for the single 28650 in either DNA40 or SX-350. Should be about the same with the SX-350J or DNA200 when those versions come out. But, you can only buy it if you're on a freakin' list, and that makes it a non-starter for me.
Of course the report a bugs forum looks bad. It is the report a bugs forum. The sample you're pulling from is biased. Think of the relatively small number of people that actually have DNA200 mods and then that number of people reporting there should be relatively minuscule as others have pointed out. I've had my Opus for a couple months now, certainly not as long as though that built their own mod, but no problems and it seems many others are very happy as well, it is just generally more likely that you are more likely to hear from those that have problems than those that are perfectly happy.
Also is the 350 for the Vapedroid 350 American or Euro? Is there even anywhere in America that sells them?
Closed, private group on Facebook is the only way to buy them, and you have to put your name on the list. The mod maker is in Germany if memory serves, and the least expensive worked out to $350ish after Euro conversion, but that was back in May when the Euro was stronger. The last I heard, there was only SX 350 (not J) and DNA40 versions, in single or dual 28650, but he was working on a 350J at the time, and I have no doubt a DNA200 version is in the works.
so, which dna200 mod has the most mah? they all seem to have a similar form factor and for me the one that lasts the longest (assuming it is not a total dog) will grab my $$. does anyone know which one that is ? anyone own one and could you recommend it? appreciate any help in this area......
Any dual 18650 dna200 mod with lg hg2 batteries. That's if you want the most usable battery life possible while away from a charger and extra batteries. Should last you well into the second day on a single charge. Plus it's a smaller form factor.
Just finished building the Bootlegger - a 3D print from @Podunk Steam. I've got the wrong 510 on there and will replace it soon. I've also fixed the one door so it fits more flush.
I heard from a friend at Vaporshark today.
