Hi, I am a new vaper. Have been a pipe smoker for quite a few years, cigars before that, cigs before that. I love the change to vaping, and am determined to find my "sweet spot" as what works for me. I'm currently noticing since starting vaping that I am having a little trouble sleeping through a whole night. Something I havent experienced prior to vaping. I dont think this is because I am no loner smoking, I think it has something to do with my vaping habits.

I am using a vamos, with a protank, vaping at 3.5 - 3.7 volts. 18 mg nic. 50/50 mix.

Anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advanced. Im determined to make this work for me as I feel so much better in just 3 weeks of not smoking.

I've read there are individuals who have this insomnia type effect happen to them also, not me though.

I recommend u use a lower nic say 12 ml or lower a few hours before bed time.

Agree and nicotine affects people in diff ways. With some it's a stimulant while for others it's a relaxant. Just read a post last week where a new vaper was sleepy all the time.

I have insomnia already so i couldn't tell you. try lowering the nic level in the early evening before you go to bed

Nicotine level. I had exactly the same problem. Especially because in the evening, when I'd plop down on the couch and watch what little TV I bother with, I tended to "chain vape".

I bought some 6mg liquid and switch down to it in the evening. I know once I'm away from the computer (home office, I work in here... not that I'm getting paid much lately <mutter>), I'll vape more. So I always switch down to lower nic when I go in the living room in the evening.

Yeah it's... weird. There's so much in modern tobacco products along with the nicotine, how is anybody going to be able to pin down what chemical did what?

Yeesh!

I was all over the map for a while. Couldn't get to sleep. Got low nic for the evenings, that started to level out. Then couldn't wake up! That drug on a week or so and I went back the other way.

Oh yeah, and the weird dreams. Very, very, very screwy. Super realistic but made no sense.

Then it all started to level off.

It was annoying but nothing as bad as my "quit" attempts. And I started sleeping better early on. I swear, my sleep now is so freaking "deep", sometimes it's like somebody throws a switch from "night" to "morning". I don't feel any real passage of time. I feel good but it's like the night just blinked by.

It was worth putting up with some crazy for a while. :)

Thank you guys! I too have had trouble staying up at night. I mean I used to go to bed at 11:00. Then started vaping and started staying up to 1;00-2:00 and had to get up a 6:00! A couple of question thought:

1. Did analogs have something in me that made me sleepy or does vaping have something that keeps me up?
2. Will a lower nicotine produce less of a throat hit?

Since cigs have over 4,000 (!) chemicals in them (at least so far identified, stay tuned!)... um... probably? Maybe?

Lower nic might yield less "throat hit" but while I know some folks like throat hit, sleep is nice too. :)

The question is can you vape less or is it better for you to cut the nic level? You're the only one who can tell. I like my "evening vapes" so I cut the nic. If you can vape less, you'd accomplish the same, cutting back on the nicotine you take in. Me, I didn't wanna cut back on the vaping so I had to cut the nicotine.
