I will say the first night was the worst and it has seemingly gradually gotten a little bit better, but I'm still not sleeping anywhere near as well as I was with the analogs. The poor sleeping happens for most of the night so I'm having a tough time putting my arms around the stop vaping an hour or so before bed. I will try it tonight, and hope for the best.

I'm currently vaping around 1.5 -2 ml. per day, that's not out of the ordinary is it?

You are not vaping very much at all. Sleepytime tea might put you over the edge. Tzao Calm is good but more expensive. One Dramamine (motion sickness pill, comes in generic, ok for kids ) 20 minute hot bath or shower before bed. Foot massage all lights out, try a fan if you like white noise, sex, WTA lowest nic mgs will calm you from aroma eJuice. If you are vaping that small amount it's just not probable it is nicotine. It's more likely withdrawal.

I used the patch and had horrible nightmares and trouble sleeping. When I went through the 3 steps and got off the patch, I was having trouble sleeping for about 6 months nic free.

Since I've been vaping, I don't have many issues. I've never been one to fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, but once I get to sleep I usually sleep restfully. I do however have to get up and use the bathroom a lot at night because of all the water I'm drinking!!!

I feel like I am actually getting more nicotine. Like I said at the beginning of the thread, my sleep is similar to when I was on the patch, including the vivid dreams.

I also couldn't sleep when I was on the patch. What I did in the beginning (same type problems) is add some plain vg (purchased at Wally World) to my juice to step it down and that fixed the problem. After vaping for a while I no longer need to do that.

I use 24mg of nic and vape in bed while watching tv, sometimes even wake up in the middle of the night for a drink and i'll take a toot off the old horn. Don't ask why I said that, just felt right. Anyways... I don't think I've had any issues with sleep from it. But then again I've been smoke free for a few months now.

Hey, glad to hear it looks like you got your sleep issue fixed. As someone with insomnia, I know how difficult life without sleep can be.

Reading all this got me thinking about my habits and the potential impact vaping could be having on my sleep patterns. I have noticed that I haven't had a really bad bout (3+ days of 1-2 hours sleep) of insomnia since I quit smoking.

When I was smoking, I noticed that if I was having a bit of difficulty sleeping, getting out of bed and going to the porch for a drink and a smoke usually allowed me fall asleep quickly (I think my insomnia is anxiety driven).

I think to help things along, I'm going to switch to a lower nic "evening" juice and see how things go.

UPDATE:

I cut way back on my evening vaping, and I slept like a baby last night.

Think I am going to try some 6 or 12 mg eliquids to vape after 6 PM.

Thank you everyone for the helpful suggestions!

Can you give us another update...how it progressed after Dec 30, and what seemed to help/hinder?
