I ordered one. A 2.5 satin mini with green LED. Here's my story:

If you have asked me on Friday if I had any plans to order a pro-vari, I would have said no way! So what changed since then?

Saturday was going to be the day I researched all the available mods and bought something that was inexpensive but had good value. I knew ahead of time what I wanted: something that looked good, performed well, and had VW. I really wanted to determine my "personal wattage" and then just set it and forget it. Because of the need for VW, provari wasn't even on my radar.

So I got my spreadsheet all setup. I looked up at least 20 different mods. Recorded their price, size, weight--and for those mechanical, whether they could take a kick. I liked the sigeli zmax, I liked the upgradability of the evic. I liked the look of the legacy and the natural. By Saturday evening, I was still undecided.

There was something that was just lacking in each of these. What if they break? I don't want to just throw them away. What a waste! Well, I should only go with a mechanical, I thought. That way I can fix it myself if something goes wrong.

While I was thinking this, I was sucking away on an ego-v vv with a tank full of bobas. I looked down and there was no more bobas. Too lazy to change my carto out, I just poured in some butterscotch from MBV. I took a puff and it was incredibly weak. How could this be, I thought. This is my ideal wattage?

I cranked it up a tenth of volt. No change. Another tenth. Nothing. Twice again, aha! There it was-- nice, flavorful, with a good gentle strike to the back of throat. I calculated the wattage: 10.2? I thought I was a 7.5 guy?

I continued to experiment with other flavors, stopping at the voltage that was perfect for each flavor. And to my surprise it varied every time. There was no ideal wattage! There was no place where I could just set it and forget it! This changed everything!

And then I started hearing a voice in my head, saying "get the pro vari, get the pro vari." Well, what arguments did I have against it? Price? That was the only one I could think of now that VW didn't matter. But then I thought to myself-- I'll probably be vaping the rest of my life. If I get the cheapies, I'll be dealing with the hassle and disappointment of broken and irreparable mods. The pro vari is a work horse AND it can be repaired. That was it. I was sold.

Now, why I specifically chose a v2.5, mini, and green LED-- well, that's its own story.;)

VW holds no draw on me anymore, as the OP noticed there is no one wattage that is perfect for all situations, and it is just as easy to change the voltage as it is to change the wattage. If a V3 were to become available and all it offered over the V2 was VW I would have no trouble resisting another, now if they add some other magic at the same time I would have to have one but just VW would not be enough.

The only thing that worries me, is that I feel like ProVape is going to release a ProVari v3 with VW capability in a few months, at which point I will be required to ask the bank to process yet another $200 transaction....:p
no you will send in the old one for a cheap upgrade.

its in the pdf somewhere on the site that any provari will be future upgradable when upgrades are available just like v1 to v2 was. that one was a component and software upgrade for 20 bucks.

but i bet if they add VW it will be a 5 month waiting list lol.

sent in my V1 chrome with a 20 spot in the box and now its a V2.

I'm with the OP on this one as well. I realized that I change flavors several times a day, and every time I change I'm changing voltage on my home-built box mod anyway, even though all of my stuff runs at pretty much the same ohms. I said what the heck, I'm getting a Provari! Now I just have to do my little patience dance until payday on Thursday to order. :)

VV is actually much more accurate than current VW mods. Vw will get ya close but I prefer my .1 volt increments.

Your reasoning and process of elimination was similar to many Provari owners. Except you didn't need to actually experience the scenario of broken or irrepairable mods, you thought it out rationally.

You experienced a moment of clarity and realization when you were adjusting the voltage on your juice. You knew that was true before, but the experience opened your mind to what really matters to you.

Maybe it's just the way I collected my setup, but all of my delivery devices are of the same atty resistance. No need for variable wattage here. I own over a dozen cartotanks with the same resistance cartomizer, each with their own flavor. Each one requires some tweakage of volts for best flavor. Variable watts would require the same. Except, as Zapp points out, variable voltage can tweak it with even more precision.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your Provari. You did good. :headbang:

I'm really glad I got the provari right away, but I had no clue to any of this when I got it. I was spending close to 200 bucks a month on cigs anyway, so I saw that many thought the provari was the best so I just got it. It doesn't seem that expensive, but now I've caught the vaping bug and will probably spend many hundreds more before I settle down to just juice.

I like changing the "hit" I get throughout the day. Sometimes more, sometimes less even on the same juice. The advantage of VW just wouldn't translate (wouldn't be any worse either). I have noticed (imagined?) that it seems like what I want sometimes changes whether I'm outside or not -- and since it's winter, that would mean whether I'm starting with cool or warm air, I guess.
