Had to put a little pun in there. I'm not talking about a pack, but rather a PAC (political action committee). Has there ever been any discussion of starting one up? There are some legal requirements, but an organized PAC is rather effective in U.S. politics anymore, and big tobacco already has their PAC(s). Here's a link to see how much they have even spent.

In terms of setting things up it's not hard and like any NPO (I think they like to call themselves NGOs now) all it needs is an accountant to set up the tax side of things and a lawyer to make sure what things you plan on doing are not going to get you sued or land anyone in jail.

Yeah with an accountant and a lawyer its really simple to get going. I was actually involved in the start up of a PAC in 2005, which has raised more than $3 million for different candidates over the past couple of cycles.
I think the effectiveness of a well organized group behind our cause would be extremely beneficial., especially if we could get to the point of having our own certain levels of product safety and consumer education commitments.
