So I started vaping about 2 months ago using the standard non-rebuildable vision clearos (with the long wick) and I enjoyed them for the first 2-3 days but after that the taste started going south and I got a lot less vapor from them. After a good cleaning in vodka they would usually pep right back up but this time only for a day or 2 max....I'd clean it again and get another day or so out of it before I had to switch to a new one. (BTW I'm using an eGo 650 and an eGo 900 battery right now....) My main question is, WHY? I was told these tanks ought to last for 2 weeks to a month and even longer in some cases depending on how heavily I vaped. Do I actually vape enough to more or less "use up" a brand new clearomizer in less than 2 weeks? I can tell you that I vape a little less than a 30ml bottle of fairly thin, lightly colored tobacco flavored juice every week and a half or so although I have gone through a 30ml in a week before once or twice. I don't know if it matters but when I vape I draw into my mouth and inhale from there.....I know a couple of fellow vapers I work with that inhale directly from the e-cig which IMO seems weird if you're vaping a flavored liquid because when I've tried that I get very little flavor which is one of the reasons I vape. These days, I've tried a DCT tank which I honestly wasn't too impressed with since it didn't last any longer than the old tank and I had zero luck trying to clean a dct carto. Right now I'm using a Kanger MT3 and I still go through a coil/wick per week but at least with that I get a better flavor for a longer period of time.

At the rate you're saying--4+mL a day--yeah, that sounds reasonable. For things like this, you'd be considered a heavy vaper. "Typical" daily juice usage is very, very roughly around 2mL/day, so you're going through stuff about twice as quickly as you'd expect.

Unfortunately, vendors typically exaggerate how long disposable equipment lasts to make their product look like a better buy. How many "puffs" an e-cig has is a common speicifcation that means nothing and is always exaggerated.

People gauge how long their devices last best by noting how many mililiters of liquid were put through it. 50mL through a clearo before replacing is a respectable amount. I tend to rebuild my heads (rather than clean them) after about 20-30mL goes through them.

If you're willing to put in the effort to clean your clearos in alcohol to stretch them out, IMO, you'd be best off getting something with replaceable heads and learning to rebuild those. Forget cleaning, and just replace heads every couple weeks and rinse the tank. They would perform just like new, unlike cleaned clearos which never seem to last as long.

By the sounds of your post, your better off picking up a tank and replaceable cartomizers. Just about any tank out there is pretty solid. Be weary of the plastic ones though and the juices you put into them. Strong fruity flavors tend to have a higher acidic in them and break down plastic tanks quicker than regular juices (hence tank leaking, etc.). If you can afford it pickup a pyrex glass tank setup, but their quite a bit more expensive than the plastic ones.

The carto's for it will last you roughly 1-2 weeks pending how frequently you vape. They usually last me about 2 weeks or about 20-30ml of liquid before I need to replace them. Another thing that influences them is the amount of volts im using. On my Bolt which is a regulated 3.7 volts they last longer, on my Vamo at 4.7-5.0 volts they burn up a bit quicker. Just depends.

When they told you that it was a gestamation. LOL Lots of factors like the juice you us, wattage and how often you vape. Get a repairable like the Kanger Evod or Protank.
Here are my reasons:
1: It is repairable if you buy the replacement head in 5 packs for less than $2 a piece or if you like rebuildable , with just a few tools and supplies.
2: The EVOD and Protank are bottom feed. No tilting to get the juice to the head. Better flavor IMO and the only dry hits I get are when the head is really gunked up or your very low on juice.
3: You get to reuse most of the unit less to toss out in the trash.
4: This pplies to the Protank PYREX and the soon to be released Protank mini. GLASS GLASS no frosted or melted or cracked tanks because of caustic juice. Not the new plastic one(s)
5: On the bottom coil systems like the EVOD and Protank you can replace the head with out draining out all the juice like you have to do on the CE repairables and the Vivi types.
6: I get more consistent performance out of the bottom coils I have used. The EVOD and Protank.
7: if you go into repairing your old head the EVOD and Protanks are much easier and use less wick IMO and IME.
8. I use to be a big time Vivi fan. Look at some of my old posts singing the praise of them. But I am retiring my Vivi's now. I own 4 mods and 3 of them have either an EVOD or a Protank on them.
Now for the new wrinkle there are some others out there that call themselves Protank's but they have a metal skin on them some of them claim to be pyrex glass but they are not they are plastic. Defeats 1/2 the purpose of getting a Protank. I would stay away from them.
On other which I am really wanting to get is the Puritank but they got gobbled up in the US in like a day. It is glass and uses a drip tip unlike the EVOD and Protank. I like that and it will use either the EVOD or Protank heads. I will someday get one of them.

ONE Last warning there is one that may be a Kanger Protank but is made of plastic. Again I say once you've use Glass the rest taste like .... LOL
Hope I didn't get to long winded but I really like the systems. Hope it was of some help. I have use Drips. Carto's, Carto tanks, CE, EGO's and 3 diff types of Vivi atty's and all but 3 Vivi's are either in someone Else's hands gone. Oh I do still have an RDA and 2 RBA's in case of the Zombie takeover. LOL
Nuf said.

disposable clearos are horrible. i burn them out in 2-3 hours, i cant believe you got that long out of them. people typically get around 20 mls through them before they are trash. imho you are going to burn out any heating element you buy in just a week or two with how much you vape. good news is if you get an iclear 16 or 30, you can replace the wicks for super cheap. these clearos will also last longer than most other clearos out there. protanks and evods are nice too. as a chain vaper, your best bet is to fiddle with that dct tank a little more. cartos are the only basic heating element that can keep up with chain vaping imho
