Guys, e-vaping is the best thing to happen to many of us. Yes, some of us still like various tobacco products and we love our nicotine. E-cigarettes have rapidly become a way out for many of us addicts who, for whatever reason, cannot quit smoking.

However, governments and other entrenched powers would love nothing more than to stub this growing option out, like a cigarette ..... This is why we need your help.

I am going to ask that any and all suppliers that frequent this forum voluntarily stop their advertising of this device as a 'stop smoking' aid. Is it true that many people, anecdotally, have quit smoking tobacco cigarettes with e-cigarettes? Absolutely. However, in many countries, quitting smoking aids are heavily regulated by the government and can be only supplied by Big Pharma.

Please step up and work with us on this. Let individuals share their stories of how it helped them to quit but, stop advertising this as a tool for doing that. It's a 'safer' and, in most cases, a cheaper way to get your nicotine fix than tobacco cigarettes. That's all and that should be enough to sell them to anyone.

Again, I'm asking that the good suppliers here, many of which we all have grown to know and love, stop using terms like 'quit smoking' in your ads. If you do this, voluntarily, we have a hope of enjoying e-vaping for many years to come. If you don't, most governments will either regulate or tax us to death and consign us smokers to a lingering death by tobacco inhalation. Commit to helping us to continue to enjoy these products. Place a post here if you'll support your customers in this endeavor. Thank you in advance!

I second the motion, and would also warn against stating that this is "safer" in such a definite manner. Although this is very likely to be true, it is unproven. One could say that there is no combustion, no tar, etc. It would also help transparency if sellers posted the ingredients in their juice, and sold them with warning labels and child-proof caps (which I personally hate, but would definitely allay my fears when I go around with my little bottles, just in case I lost them...).

I put the safer in quotes. I use the term similar to the term 'safer' sex. That is to say, this method of nicotine ingestion may have risks but, is safer than tobacco smoking. You are correct though. It's a catch-22. Until there is a long-term study done to validate the 'safety' of vaping, it can't be claimed. However, none of the manufacturers will put up any money for research, unless and until they are forced to by the government.
