If you have the cash, get a MicroStick! Not much bigger than a box of matches and built like a tank. $200 with the atty but you'll have it for the rest of your life.

Here's the poor man's version of the MicroStick. Smoktech Gripper. $16. :D

There are three PV's that have stood the test of time IMO.

Silver Bullet ... altsmoke.com
Provari ... provape.com
Reo ... reosmods.com

The BIG THREE, all classics in the true definition of the word. :thumb: I'm a happy owner of 2 Provari's, a Silver Bullet, and the poor man's Reo - the VMOd. And I agree, a small box mod is very pocket friendly.

Provaris can take quite a bit of abuse. My husband and I have several and I would say they have been dropped 6-7 times each with no resulting firing issues. When I say dropped I mean from counters onto tile flooring, from laundry baskets onto concrete slab, from hands onto concrete slabs and from a truck onto asphalt. I use a lanyard to keep mine in when I am away from home and this helps keep me from dropping my mod. My husband uses a Flashlight Holster from Bianchi, I believe it is 7310, 7311 or 8010.

I started gaping about a week ago. I'm currently using a joye ego c twist and I switch between mini novas and kranger pro tanks 2. It's kinda of a long setup to keep in my pocket when at work. I work construction and I'm constantly moving and the thing is getting smashed around in my pocket. Any advice on something smaller to keep in my pocket just to get me threw the day?

Take a look here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...maller-size-vv-vw-devices-recommendation.html

A really tough set-up is a short ego battery with a 510 atty with drip tip and an Ego cone. The cone supports the atty and stabilises everything. It means dripping but that's second nature after a day (I know it sounds faffy but it's actually a doddle). I use this set-up when gardening.

If dripping's too much of a pain then just screw an Evod on a short Ego. Robust!

yeah, the OP did ask for something smaller than his eGo batteries. So I'm not so sure we should have jumped strait to recommending mods. If the OP is serious about the question he or she will come back and show us that they are actually still around. But as far as something smaller than an EGo with good durability, there isn't much.

For cig-alikes, the only good options are the VOLT from smokelessimage, or the BLOOG from Bloogmaxfusion. Both of these are around the size of a cigarette but they are regulated at 3.7v so a 1.8 to 2ohm carto or atty will do pretty well on them. Although obviously, the battery life will be short and you'll need to buy a $50+ kit that includes a pocket charging case, plus 2-3 extra batteries and at least one pack of mini clearomizers or cartomizers. (and juice) So it would be an expensive investment to try something you may not even like, considering your used to the VV capabilities of the eGo spinner batteries.

If you can sacrifice size, and go with a mod, then I'd support that fully. Like others have mentioned, there are literally hundreds of mods to choose from on the open market. Some time-tested mods are the Silver Bullet or the REO or the Super-T mods, or the Provari, the BOMBSHELL (is huge and the battery will last you two or three days haha) the Legacy with a KICK, the itaste vw just came out and its a pretty small mod you might wanna look at, the MVP is a nice box mod that would fit in your pocket nicely and it does have a ring that helps protect against breaking the tank connection spot, or the telescoping Zmax, which is stainless steel. The VAMO is probably the cheapest made of the cheap VV foreign made mods. But, hey, its cheap to buy and it'll get your foot in the door. Its HUGE though. VERY long. I dont recommend you trying a mechanical mod yet because you don't have a battery tester or an ohm meter or a PV that does this, so building your own attys would be dangerous and pre-made coils can be unreliable and annoying with mechanical mods. The smoktech Natural + a KICK would be sweet too. I seriously love my Natural. I think anyone would love it. I'm going to eventually get a 2nd one. (the KICK is a vv chip you can buy separately and it'll turn any mechanical mod into a VV/VW mod) The kick would work great in a Silver Bullet as well. I have a few of the mods I've suggested and all of them are fine for pocket holding during hard labor. (I promise, mods are sturdy if you buy good ones)

WELL, that turned out to drone on way too long. Hopefully you've got some ideas though.
Please come back to this thread so we know if your even seeing these suggestions or if you've flewn the koop.

I hear so many people on here say that they only use their Provari at home and take another smaller battery with them when they go out. would you say the Provari is more of a home device or is it reasonable to take it out with you?

Thats just people with a lot of mods that want to assign a label to all of them to justify buying so many. You can take the Provari out with you anywhere. Its actually 1 of the shortest mass produced VV mods on the market.

I think there are three schools of thought on this question.

  • Some Provari owners are afraid of taking a $150+ mod out and possibly losing it. Taking a less expensive device like a $25 eGo out and losing it is not that much of a loss financially.

  • Others may falsely fear that a Provari could be broken by dropping it onto concrete or a tile floor. Nothing could be further from the truth. These things are made like a tank. There are stories from right here on ECF of owners dropping one one story onto concrete, dropping one off of a speeding motorcycle onto the highway, being run over by a dump truck, surviving a dunk in the swimming pool, a river, and even a full cycle in the washer. The only battle that I recall that a Provari lost was with a lawn mower - and you should have seen the blade.

  • The regular size Provari with the battery extension cap and a tank on top can be a little long for a pants pocket. I decided to buy a couple of pocket friendly Gripper-style VV mods meant to take its place for when I went out of the house. However, I found myself reaching for the Provari most of the time because it gave me a more satisfying vape. So, for my 1 year anniversary, I gifted myself with a Mini Provari, and that is what I now use almost exclusively when I leave the house. I have dropped mine from my lap onto the pavement when getting out of my car numerous times. I check for a crack in my tank or a hole in the asphault, and am good to go. I already know without checking that the Provari is fine.
