Something smaller, or shorter?
I'd recommend moving up to a mod, either a mechanical (perhaps with a Kick to change voltage) or a regulated mod to change voltage. Mods are generally either stainless steel or aluminum, so their bodies can take some abuse. They will use removable, rechargeable batteries. Figure on purchasing a charger in addition to batteries.
You can also get all metal tanks, or mostly metal, which can take some abuse. The weak point will be the connector for both of them; not uncommon for a
juice device's connector to get broken off inside a mods connector.
Choosing which mod to get is open to discussion. How long do you want the battery to last? All day (usually means a larger or longer mod)? Or would you not mind carrying a spare in a pocket (usually means a smaller or shorter mod that uses a shorter lasting battery).
Box or tube form factor? The iTaste MVP is a sturdy VV box mod with a 2 - 3 day built-in rechargeable battery. It can even recharge your cell phone in a pinch. Just about double the thickness of a cell phone in size so it will easily fit in a pocket.
What's your price range? Without a doubt a Provari will be the most dependable and durable VV mod you can find, and whose manufacturer will repair it for as long as you own it, but you'll spend at least $140 for one.
How important is it to change voltage? This decision effectively divides the choices in half.
