olderthandirt & Fran;

Nice to see that yer still here. Sorry to hear about the weather up there. We dropped to 35 in Houston last night, and it was brutal for us. Still lots of a...holes shooting in the air at midnight. Now the folks in the suburbs will be patching bullet holes in their roofs today. What goes up, must come down.

Oh hitt... I'm sorry to hear about the water heater... what a way to start the new year! :(

Good to see you Wiz.. AND congrats on your 5 years! Hope the family is feeling better soon! :)

Good to see you again too Jim! :)

Fran & Firechick... hope the storms don't hit you too hard today!

CES... headache... so not fair when you didn't even party hard!! :(

PT... glad you were still awake at midnight to give MS PT a forehead kiss for the new year! :)

Hmmm.. I feel a nap coming on see you all later!.....

hello all, what a Paula Dean experience.
200,000 miles between south fla and the northeast and never knew Savannah was the go to stop.
Its 8 miles off 95, close to the middle of a trip and oh wow!
What a great place to get your road eyes exposed to the joys of a city with fun at every corner.
They have a 2 sqaure mile area of to go cups and drink as you like in public without the dirt of other areas that try to pull it off.
Solid squares , great people, green areas,a walking city unknown in the south to me.
Out of the four cars next to mine in the parking lot of the hotel none moved for 3 days, thats a fun town .

If you go to Savannah ever, "Jen and Friends "is the joint for sure,
they make the gray blue,
wow!

    Somewhere between here and there
Good evening everyone. I'm back! I went this morning and bought a water heater and supplies to hook it up. My neighbor helped me carry the new one down to the basement and it's up and running now. I love those new shark bite connectors. Anyone can be a plumber now. While I had the hot water off I went to get some water from the dispenser on the fridge and it barely trickled out and then stopped. Went down to the basement and followed the pipes to discover that the plumber that did the piping when the house was built 14.5 years ago had run the fridge water line to the hot water pipe. I had to make another trip to the hardware store for more connectors and a hose but got it connected to the correct pipe now. I still have to go down and clean up and put tools away but we are operational again. I don't know how many more days off I can stand. Work would have been easier.

Just so happy to hear that the water heater repair is behind you hitt.. and so glad the repair was easy with the new shark bites  My water heater is about 12 years old.. and have been wondering if it was better to let it go out on it's own.. or replace before problems! As far as ME using the hot water (I could get by for a day or 2) .. but since my business uses the hot water 5 days per week in the grooming shop...would sure hate to be without it :(

The one I replaced was the original from when we had the house built 14.5 years ago. You might want to start thinking about it if your business relies on it.

Thanks hitt for your water heater thoughts! :) The last thing I need is to be without hot water to bathe my business dogs! Might be worth replacing the water heater BEFORE it goes out (since it's 12 years old) especially when the $$$'s it brings in is needed much more than just my own comfort!! No way am I going to bathe any dogs WITHOUT warm water! :)
