In the mighty tomes of the Genisis threads, I have gleaned that one wants the nicrome/kanthal insulated from any plastic. I would recommend a piece of cork glued onto the bottle cap, even then keep the nicr./kanth 1/4inch or so from the cork...
From there it is a matter of fiddling until you get a set up(that is: body of mod/batt. conn.,etc., config. of atty, then type of top/mouthpiece with hole placed for your individual fog preferences) that suits you.
I have been fiddling for a while now, and just recently have come up with something that I think will work for me. Will post pics, hopefully, when I get it all together.
In other words, keep at it!!!! Don't get discouraged, and read all of the main Genisis threads. There is a spectacular amount of info. in those threads.

Yeah, plastic Genisis not a good idea, but I assume you're doing this just to test the idea and not vape
Your posts are too far from the wick and it looks like you only have one wrap around it? Not enough if so. Are you using kanthal or nichrome?

Im using kanthal with 400 SS mesh...and thanks guys I could use all the help I could get
