A slight "sizzling" sound, is that normal? Is this what they call "gurgling"?

I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. I have a Vivi Nova tank that I'm using with a variable voltage X6 (3 voltage presets). I'm using a juice that is about 80% VG, 10% water and 10% flavoring (based on a ratio seen described on another forum). You could call it either "sizzling" or a "high pitched gurgle", I guess.

Is that ok? I just want to make sure I'm not killing my atty.

Thanks for any insights!

I'm far from an expert and can only offer a basic thought but I wonder what resistance your atty is and what voltage you have it set on. I run a Vivi Nova on my Vamo and on the wattage settings. When I first put it on there I was using a 2.4 ohm head and running it right around 3.5V or so. If I run it in the 4V range I get some noise out of the coil. Maybe try turning your voltage down some. Good luck. I'm sure someone with experience can chime in on this!

All attys, cartos, heads, etc "sizzle and pop" when new. That's the sound of the juice being vaporized on the coil. As the coil becomes coated in juice "gunk" this sound will subside. As for frying your atty (matching ohms to volts) here's a volts to ohms chart:

Best of Luck.

You should hear some sort of sizzling sound from your atomizer. If it is dead quit it probably isn't working or at very low voltage. Here is a link to a aga-t atomizer going off. Not in the same realm as your tank, but easier to hear the sound. The video shows the atomizer exposed so the sound will sound more muffled on your unit aga-t cotton/mesh hybrid.MOV - YouTube

As already stated the steady sizzle is good, just your juice being vaporized. The best way I know to try to describe gurgling is similar to the sound of someone gargling their throat only NOT steady. To me it is more like glug-glug and can have a pop sound or sensation. Think air pocket in a water pipe.

Like others have posted a sizzle is good, a gurgle is bad.

A ViVi nova isnt a tank its a clearomizer.

This is a tank
