I had my atty die last week before an order of new ones came in, had to buy a pack of smokes. Bought myself some delicious(less disgusting), refreshing menthol after finding I couldn't stand the taste of regular cigarettes anymore. I also started on menthol cigarettes, taste didn't bother me as much as regulars.
To me, at least, menthol is definitely my gateway cigarette. Not to mention how much the soon to be banned flavors are disgusting anyway.

As sad as it is, I think the only hope we have for legitimate vaping in the future might be from Altria releasing their own PV.

We wouldn't need them to release the PV, we'd need them to release e-liquid.

I don't think the banning of PVs is an issue.

That's why I have 10 atty's, 12 batteries, about a hundred blank cartridges, lots of pre-filled cartridges, and 12 bottles of juice. No sense taking risks. :)

OMFG! You're like a national celeb now! Damn straight you need to make another video, try to stick to the notes this time...if you're going to be notorious, you'll want to put a good foot forward for all the fans:)

I will certainly do so. LOL

Up until lately I didn't realize the existance of this "Sunrise Project". It now all makes perfect sense why PM crafted this bill, and wanted to align themselves with Tobacco Free Suckers. The bill, along with aligning themselves with Tobacco Free Kids, was their perfect scenario come true. It stifles competition, kills safer alternatives, and insures their brands based on advertising restrictions. And they come out as the "good guy" in the end. (Lets smoke the cigarettes of our Champions! YEEEH!)

Unfortuantely, this was the perfect marketing strategy that worked. And PM used the US Government to accomplish it.

Washington politicians are sellouts. Plain and simple. :nah:

Thanks for posting this story.. it puts answers to a lot of things I'd been wondering about and makes things make a bit more sense

Yes, it indeed puts an answer to a lot of questions. It was a big  at first, WHY would a big tobacco company align themselves with an anti-tobacco group and craft such a bill.

It all makes sense now.

Philip Morris's Project Sunrise: weakening tobacco control by working with it.
Patricia McDaniel
E A Smith
R E Malone

ABSTRACT:

OBJECTIVE: To analyse the implications of Philip Morris USA's (PM's) overtures toward tobacco control and other public health organisations, 1995-2006.

DATA SOURCES: Internal PM documents made available through multi-state US attorneys general lawsuits and other cases, and newspaper sources.

METHODS: Documents were retrieved from several industry documents websites and analysed using a case study approach.

RESULTS: PM's Project Sunrise, initiated in 1995 and proposed to continue through 2006, was a long-term plan to address tobacco industry delegitimisation and ensure the social acceptability of smoking and of the company itself. Project Sunrise laid out an explicit divide-and-conquer strategy against the tobacco control movement, proposing the establishment of relationships with PM-identified "moderate" tobacco control individuals and organisations and the marginalisation of others. PM planned to use "carefully orchestrated efforts" to exploit existing differences of opinion within tobacco control, weakening its opponents by working with them. PM also planned to thwart tobacco industry delegitimisation by repositioning itself as "responsible". We present evidence that these plans were implemented.

CONCLUSION: Sunrise exposes differences within the tobacco control movement that should be further discussed. The goal should not be consensus, but a better understanding of tensions within the movement. As the successes of the last 25 years embolden advocates to think beyond passage of the next clean indoor air policy or funding of the next cessation programme, movement philosophical differences may become more important. If tobacco control advocates are not ready to address them, Project Sunrise suggests that Philip Morris is ready to exploit them.

Welcome to the peoples republic of America where the peoples rights to choose are protected by "Archie FDA Bunker", even if it kills us, the path to capitalism is led by the government, and prejudices is only allowed under supervised government legislation.

With my 200th post here, I give you Archie Bunker. :)

The big problem is "political correctness". Anyone who, like you or I, that stands as a hard critic of the gobernment and sees what is going on and speaks out against it, are viewed as crackpots, .... lovers, Hitler Skinheads, terrorists, hate gays, rednecks, fill in the blank to whatever else you can think of, etc...

People are afraid of speaking up for this very reason. The don't want to "offend". Well, I am making it a mission point to "offend" as many as possible, because I find losing my rights and liberties to a bunch of sell outs offensive.

And I'm not going to stay quiet about it. 8-o

Archie Bunker was cool. He was the most politically incorrect character to ever grace the TV screen. Ya gotta love him :D
