And did I mention that it was uphill BOTH ways? :p

Heh. When I was a kid my dad used to always say that. And I would be like.. "I don't get why it's so funny" and one day he says, "Because it's IMPOSSIBLE." and I reply, "Not if the hill goes like this: /\" and he pretty much stopped saying it :p

Darn it ,
We killed a little palmetto bug in the house last night. Hubbys gone to get more bug spray and do a complete spray today. yuck!!

For those that dont know, palmetto bugs look like black beetles, but they can grow to the size of a small mouse!! They are the ugliest thing! They really dont bite but darn they are nasty creatures.

Now I am scared of the spiders getting in too.

Getting paraniod here .

Heck if I know, the palmettos do fly but they look like giant black beetles to me.
I dont know, just what I was told they were called.

I'm not sure if that's what I saw. I think it was some kind of beetle, but we DO get VERY large flying beetle things up here. Like, the size of a bat. horrid things. Not dangerous though.

Really near the mexican border.
If you want big bugs, florida, georgia, louisiana and the sw are the places to be. I have never seen as big of cockroaches as I did when we stopped in a little place in louisiana on my way to Nashville. The damn thing could have taken off with my fully loaded plate. it was huge, bigger than a madagascar hissing roach...it made me not want to eat there, but I still did because I famished. Oh I was driving from my previous home in Southern NM, where we are moving back to next June.

and apparently now Flordia has a python problem....kid you not....apparently the native wildlife wasn't dangerous enough that someone had to introduce pythons as well...

and now I saw on TV the other night that there's some huge wild pig invasion going on throught the south....craziness

I like NW ohio...no fires, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, billions of twisters, or animals that would try to kill me....so I gotta put up with a little snow on occasion... oh well...

don't tell my friend/roomate - or he'll see if he can catch company for Belt (the name of his ball python...lol)
lol.....seriously though I guess people were letting them go when they got too big for them to handle and flordia is prime habitat for them...so there's all these burmese pythons that are decimating the everglades...

yup and aparently working their way north...staging a very slow invasion....

and now these wild pigs...there was a show on discovery the other night I think it was...
that the native pigs which were relatively small...have had eurasian wild pigs introduced to the population and are crossbreeding with them...so now there's like these 700-1000 pound boars with no fear running amuck through GA and spreading to flordia and all these other states...attacking people and busting into houses and crap...destroying crops and farmland...

Re Snakes:

I've read several articles and seen a couple documentaries on the python invasion. Some say they are out of control, others say it's blown out of proportion; so I'm not sure what to believe.

Re Giant Boars:

Do you ever wonder if Pigs refuse to eat Jews? (I'm only mentioning this because as a Jew, I wonder about this sometimes and think it's only fair.) ;)

If you venture out into the wilds of the Everglades here ,yes it is true. But then they are finding them in town now too. My bil has a plot of land 100 acres now surrounded by developements and city . He sent me some pics from his game cam the other day which included wild pigs, deer and even a panther.

The one development recently had a black bear greeting people as they came out the front door LOL> This is right in town too.

Yup , I live in a zoo, uncaged!
