this is my knockoff ego I got it for about 17 dollars from a China wholesale website, I carry it in my pocket and just about anywhere else, for about a whole year, and I had a second identical one that I lost a couple days ago. for the most part these have been the best batteries ever, and the only thing that has changed on them since then has been the rubberized coating, they were all black when I bought them, but now they're stainless steel they still vape like champs.

When shopping for some Twists and Mini Vivi Novas I noticed that one site loudly proclaiming their products to be the real McCoy also have an unenviable customer service reputation. I purchased my Twists from a seller with an excellent reputation for customer service. The manufacturer, SLB, was listed in the product description. I did not dismantle the batteries but the exterior build quality is just fine and the Twists have performed as expected. I will be ordering more for gifts.

My Mini Vivi Novas are the real deal but the seller from whom I purchased is not blaring that fact on their site. That seller also has an excellent reputation for customer service.

I know several people who have had manufacturing done in China. From the experiences they have related I have decided that associating brand with quality for Chinese manufactured goods is simply nonsensical. I opt to purchase good customer service and let the seller go through the headaches of weeding out shoddy merchandise.

This is a good reason to buy American made!
I like to buy American and I'm tired of Chinese knockoffs of things we invented....but this time the shoe is on the other foot. The e-cig was invented in China, and they have some important patents. I still believe in American workers and American quality control (though Japan uses an American-invented quality control method that American companies ignored and dismissed....) but for now I'll get juice from America and other things from the inventors or the best manufacturers, from whatever country.

If something is not e-cig related, I try to buy from America first, and next the Americas, and next to try to spread money fairly around the whole world, even if it means paying a little more, but I have to say I think the inventor of any particular thing deserves some respect.

I think if you deal with a reliable vendor you will have fewer problems. I have a knock off twist and it works great. My joye is having button problems.

My Joyetech twist started with a sticky button, which i mentioned on ECF, but it is now better.
I've already ordered from a dozen venders with no problems. But us newbes, don't really know a reliable vender from an unreliable one, unless we have a problem.

I want to point out to you all that China clearly has different laws about IP (intellectual property) than we do in the USA. They don't care. I wrote an article about it in my blog (link below in my signature). This idea of name brands when it comes to China is very misled. Name brands there are a means to an end. I cannot say for sure that JoyEtech is better than a clone brand but it's worth taking your chances because I have had many problems with "clones".

I agree totally ShogaNinja.
It's not really a question of better, but rather trying to get the same thing that someone "perceives" is better, like your recomendation of E-1. Who makes it? How is it marked? If i want to buy it, i want the same one that you recomended, not a clone. Now i know that i can buy it from the same place you bought it from,so , we are assuming i'm going to buy somewhere else.

Anyone who has been at a while knows that for the most part SLB has always made inferior copies of other's products. Their first 510 atty copys where a joke, just higher ohm DSE901s in a 510 sleeve. Their 510 Mega batteries were also pathetic. Strictly Ejuice, kinda of a major player once, buried themselves with their SLB 510 kit sales, which they tried to pass off as Joye. The batteries especially were going into melt down. Does anyone use or recommend SLB 510 cartos (junk BTW)?

Here is SLB's first eGo copy.

They not only copy the device, they copy the box, charger, name, layout of the picture and even Janty's logo.

This is the epitome of all that is bad and unscrupulous about China manufacturers.

And off topic, but maybe important.....we might want to make sure we are stocked up on this stuff.
From the telegraph.com.uk "A senior adviser to the Chinese government has called for an attack on the japanese bond market to precipitate a fuding crisis and bring the country to its knees, unless Tokyo reverses its decision to nationalise the disputed Senkaku/diaoyu islands in the East China Sea..........Separately, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported that China is drawing up plans to cut off Japan's supplies of rare earth metals needed for hi-tech industry.......Mr. Jin said China can afford to sacrifice its " low-value-added" exports to japan at a small cost."

As far as SLB goes the Kgo is really the only decent thing they have ever made. And I agree about knock offs. It creates way too much confusion in the vaping community and leads to bad rep for the devices original manufacturer. Someone gets knock off of Company A's product from Company B and has a bad experience... Then thinks It's company A's fault.

Snce the KGO was mentioned, I'm inclined to comment. I have no idea why the KGOs get good reviews. The batterry is near unusable for me, since the battery powers the atty for a full second after the button is released. I often take short puffs also, and the KGO just can't do it. Long puffs are also very difficult, since I have to concentrate on timing the button release. One really shouldn't have to learn a battery it's a freaking battry! I really can't understand how the manufacturer has let that kind of a "feature" through to the markets. My experience is with the KGO VV, but the distributor said the behavior to cover all KGO batteries.

Also the KGO VV is tall as a sky scraper. I like the Twist 650 so much better.

I must be lucky because mine don't do that. As soon as I release the button it stops firing. However the led does take a second to dim after letting go.
