Never had a blister or even close, even with steel drip tips which I use quite often. Sub ohm cloud chasing might produce that, but it's not something I've had experience with for such a high resistance.
Something like a kayfun would work well for what you require. It combines all the pros of dripping with a tank to boot! As long as there's juice in there and the wick is set up right, you will stop before it does.
