A7 From Empire Mods?

Picked one up from empire 3 -4 Weeks ago when they were $12. Been hammering it steady ever since. Wick that came with it tasted like ..... Swapped it out with 32 awg k-d wire with 4 wraps around 2 one inch pieces of 2mm wick. (Around 3.3 ohms resistance). Cooking it at 5.1-5.3 v on a provari seems to do the trick for me. Couldn't ask for more.

I have one of these too. I've had it for over a month. I like the fact that its easy to clean, and rebuild. I still haven't recoiled it. Haven't needed to. I got mine at myvaporstore for 19.99, but it included a stainless clarion drip tip (nice). I use a delrin tip on it most of the time. Its great for testing batches of DYI juice. Well worth the money. I may end up getting another

I got 2 of these today and they don't work on my Reo VV's. I put the post down as far as it goes and it still is not long enough to make a connection. Are you using adapters with them?

I haven't had any experience with Reo's, but I just checked mine (A7). They screw out pretty far (at least 1/8 inch +). "The insides" (the part that the wire/wick is attached to) screws out too. Maybe it needs tightening? Thats the only thing that would keep the post from coming down far enough I'd think

I got an A7 last week - well i bought 2 from Avidvapes. I dripped it on my Silver bullet to begin with and it's got a great flavour and vapes splendidly. When my Reo Grand arrived a day or two ago i put it on that with the same results. I run a 510/510 adaptor on all my mods regardless just because i want to maintain the threads in tact - on the SB i swap tanks a lot for different juices.

I have not yet made a new coil for one, although i do recoil my and my wife's Vivi Nova Tanks. For the money i think it's a great piece of equipment and it works really well from straight out of the box. Recommended. Of course - i like the look of the Chalice, but i think i'll give birth before my wife will let me spend $150 on any atomizer!

well - 10 days on. A7 is still working like a charm on my REO and SB. I made a new coil for it that i am using (i'll be honest - it took me about 4 goes to get it right!) but it's working great for 4 days nonstop. I am using plain cotton wick, rather than the silica, because it is dirt cheap.

The A7 has become my fav accessory - it is reliable and i have never used the second one. Now - that awful burned taste at the start....this is really for dogsofwar. What i did the first time was just vape thru it - it passes! What i do now is i carbonise the coil before i fit a wick, i don't have a blowtorch - so it spends some time in my zippo flame, glowing red and then it seems a lot better from the start.

the REO has been splendid - it's easy to change the liquid when it runs out and very mess free. The door rattled and so i used a bit of clear tape at the bottom of the door to stop that (thanks Grimm Green) - and in the last few days, i noticed the battery was not firing reliably. It's because my 18650 is squashing the hell out of the spring. i found if i take a tooth pick and move the spring back to a central position after changing the battery - i'm cool.

Next i fancy some stainless steel mesh as wick for the A7 and the Nova tanks i run a lot on my SB and i hope to get some of that in the next few days. Kind Regards

i have an A7 on either a silver bullet or a Reo grand - which my wife took the pliers to - a modded mod. I am really having immense trouble trying to wick and coil it - i have seen the videos, but i want to use SS wick - which i can roll in seconds it's so easy. What i cannot seem to get remotely right is the coil - it is a ....... to fit and when i measure the resistance after a lot of time cursing - it is very very low. I am using kanthal wire and 400 mesh for the wick. So my question is - how can i measure the final resistance before i put the coil on the wick? - i have measured the wire first and bent it where it hits - say 1.5 Ohms - but when it's wrapped it comes out much lower.

I'd be grateful for any tips and recommendations. T.

Hi, I've been using an A7 for past 2 months now. It's been good to me so far.

Anyway, it would take time to get you build right. May I ask what the gauge of your kanthal/nichrome wire is? It can affect the resistance of your build. If you are using AWG 32 you can try and do 5 loops with every coil near each other (about a millimeter between each coil) . Your resistance can go higher by adding more loops while trying to maintain the space of each coil. I hope this helps. Please update us on how it went. Good luck!

(I still haven't used an SS mesh but I hope this helps.)

as long as you oxidize the mesh properly you shouldnt have any issues.

otherwise its the same thing.

one trick to getting the rolled mesh to bend easily is to make sure that the mesh weave is at a 45 degree angle relative to the rectangular portion of mesh that you cut....

asside from that, play around with it untill you are happy.

Will try that. Thanks.

Is the mesh touching the terminals and the bottom part of your build? Can't really see it from the angle of the picture. Thanks
