Ok, it looks like the trip to the ER won't be necessary. The button is fine, and cleaning the connection and threads seems to have helped. The BP was just sitting on my desk this morning when it started firing on its own, and I had to unscrew the bottom cap to get it to stop. Then when I screwed the cap back on the blue light was on whether I had anything connected or not. Now it's back to the red light unless I push the button, so I think I'm good. The thought of spending the next week on vacation without it was not a happy one.

Chris, most likely you have juice down inside the unit. It might be possible to walk you through trying a fix, but with you leaving on vacation tomorrow you may want to send it in :( If you send it, go here and fill out, print and send this form with it RMA form

You can try taking the top cap off by loosening the top screw, gently unscrew the cap and disconnect the ring terminal by taking the underside screw out. Soak your BP head down up to the button in a small glass of alcohol for a couple of hours and then dry completely (overnight or use a blow dryer). http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/notcigs/110719-replacing-top-cap-buzz.html

I'm sorry this happened right before your vacation :(

OK check the top screw and see if it is snug , some units in the past did not have enough heatshrik on the IC inside and this could cause the switch to activate, we have used Kapton tape to cover the top of the IC on some , you could use black elec. tape IF this is what it is , other wise we would need to replace the heatshrik tubing ,.

Well, thank you so much for your help, Bovinia and Buzzkill, but it will definitely be an RMA now. I tried to combine both sets of advice and took the top cap off, cleaned it out good with alcohol and tried to get everything back together. It seemed to be going fine until the inner wire pulled out of the ring terminal. At least the blue light is out :)

I'll get it sent in when I get back from vacation. On the bright side, I am lucky enough to have a good friend who is willing to lend me one of his Buzzes to get me through the trip, so it's not a total disaster for me. The timing sure sucks, but that's life sometimes. Must be Friday the 13th or something...
