As I said in an earlier post, I just received my RX200 yesterday. Some observations:
I am using Sony VTC4's. I purchased three brand new ones for this mod that are dedicated to it. My new charger did not come yet, so I decided to give the USB charging a try. I carefully measured the batteries several times during the charge by four methods, and compared the three: 1 the internal voltage readings in the RX200 2. My DROK Volt/ohm multimeter 3. My Fluke multimeter and 4. An LED panel mount voltmeter I intend to use as a small portable volt meter. The readings were almost exact on all four meters, and the three batteries were amazingly close (within .01 volt). I also measured the resistance of several different addys, both Kanthal and Ni, and the measurements of the RX200 were dead on. The batteries were at about 50% when I received them at 10 am yesterday morning. It took from 10 am until 3 am this morning to charge the batteries via the USB charging port. Pretty slow, but no heat issues, all three batteries charged evenly, and the vape this morning has been wonderful. My RX200 came loaded with software version 1.07, but I was surprised to see that version 1.08 had been released on Dec. 24, so I did upgrade to 1.08 before I did anything else. Evidently, 1.08 was simply an upgrade in the font, and I found the font on the screen very clear, very easy to read, and very nice. I had zero charging or heat issues whatsoever.
Conclusions: My intention has always been to use my new Nitecore 4 bay charger for the charging of these batteries for the RX200. I even purchased a car adapter for the charger. However, in a pinch, let's say to top off the batteries when I'm out of the house, I would have no problem in using my USB port in my car to the USB charging port on the RX200. I am impressed. This is a great piece of gear. I am spending the day experimenting with different addys, different
coils and builds, and the multitudes of settings available to me. I am a very happy vaper today.
