Thought I'd share this with everyone and maybe some may take this into consideration when selecting their next e-cig.

I love the concept of the e-cig and I think they do taste different but still able to satisfy, especially when its super cold outside and you cannot smoke an analog inside.

My first e-cig is all black, with blue light. I thought since I am going to smoke mostly around non-smokers I would want the model looks the least like a real analog cig.

The first test was going out to one of the few bars where you can actually smoke. So I started puffing on my ecig without even thinking. Oddly enough it got a lot of attention from smokers. They were all asking, "What the h*ll is that??". Then I told them about it and even let some try it.

Around non-smokers? Well they just give a weird look. They'll see the vapor and it seems as if they are all ready to come say something, but when they see it does NOT look like a cig, they stop and stare. Almost waiting to see me take out a lighter.

So, odd or non-traditional looking smokes do not really attract attention from non-smokers, but they will from smokers..lol

However, when I am outside by real smokers, I almost wish I had one that did look like a real one to just avoid having to explain what it is.

I wanted white ones with tan carts when I started so it would look just like a cigarette. That novelty wore off and I quickly didn't care if anyone knew it was an e-cig.
Now I have M401s that are white, black, black with gold designs, chrome, metallic red and metallic blue. Carts are black, white and tan. They all vape the same.
It's all good and I'll take the time to explain to anyone who wants to know.

My first was a starter kit from PureSmoke that looks just like a cigarette: white battery, red LED, tan cartridges.

But it isn't a cigarette, and I don't need to pretend that it is. So, when I ordered my 510s, I went black with blue and green LEDs, so that I can tell them apart.

Blowing big clouds of vapor in non-smoking places gets me plenty of attention already. By having the thing look very much not like a cigarette, I get to skip some of the hassle.

I am the same way. I purchased a green smoke excited that my e-cig would look like a real cig, but I have had to explain it about a million times so I'm at the point where I'll prolly just buy a black 808D2 battery from lecig. Its crazy how a lot of people going from "analogs" to ecigs are self conscious about appearance.

My first (nasty) e-cig was white with a brown cart, but when I went 510, I went blue, red LED, but then when I ordered spare atty's I went black, then my spare batteries are also black with Blue LED.....

It raises comments, but I am so enthusiastic I am more than happy to sing the praises of E-Cigs :D

I park my car in a pub car park accross the road from my house, and I have had positive comments from the guys sttod outside the pub having a smoke... two have asked where I got mine, and wanted the website address.....

I, at first, wanted something that looked more like a traditional cigarette so I went with the White 510 with red and Orange LED's. I have friends who have the black with Blue LED and they get the looks first, as well as the questions.
So the poster is correct,IMHO, that one that dont look like traditional cigarettes get more attention.
Im not an attention ..... myself so I chose the WHite.

But now since Ive been vaping for a few months, I have gotten tons of looks and questions, I dont care anymore. I want something that looks cool. So my next one is going to be either metallic Blue, Black, or metallic burgandy.

I wont go with Silver or Copper, looks to much like a one-hitter and I dont need THAT kind of attention.

I like and have both for different reasons. When I am inside somewhere such as a bar i use black ones with blue or green leds so as they are not mistaken for an analogue. However when I am outside such as walking to or from work or walking to lunch i prefer the white batt with orange led, so i don't look weird on the street. I personally don't like attention on me, so i like to vape very covertly, then again I was also a very covert smoker, few people at work even knew i smoked.

Even the ones that look like analogs can get awkward attention. One member told the story of how someone approached them in a huge panic, because they saw him take a puff from his "cigarette" and then put the "lit" cigarette in his shirt pocket!! LOL! :D

I just chuckle with every newb who comes here (probably 90%) and wants the best tobacco flavor and one that looks the most like an analog. Less than a month later, they're looking at buying xhalers or a chuck or something & raving about nhaler green tea liquid, lol! Those who read up before posting (the 10%) know to ask where to get the best price on a Joye510 or a VK, etc. My first purchase after joining ECF was a 510 black with blue LED. If people would just READ before posting, they'd save a lot of time and money! ;)

Just confirmation that vaping is NOT smoking. You're trading a bad habit for a new HOBBY!

I totally agree, Kristin. It is what it is. Not smoking!!!! Hobby or hassle, it is so worth it.

after some consideration, when i first ordered i went with black with blue led. partly yes, because i thought it looked cool. i wanted it to look cool to me, more reason to want to use it ya know. i also went with the blue light as kind of a mental thing. red/orange = hot burning blue = cool healing. a reinforcement to my brain i guess that i was doing something different and better for me. there have been times that i wish it didn't look so different as i'm not one for much attention either. however, after my experience with the e-cig i definately want to share that with anyone interested. i'll put up with the attention till it really catches on if i can help someone else get off the analogs. and really now, like someone else said earlier, as long as the thing works.. i'm good :)
